How fast have you gone?
Does anyone remember Opel GT? I had a 1970-Opel GT that had a 110hp 4 cylinder 1.9L engine that weighed 1995 lbs. I was able to burn rubber in 3 out of 4 gears. I had the speedometer needle pegged at the 140mph mark and was still accelerating down the highway. I don't know the actual speed, only that I had to cut back on the throttle as the front end was lifting off the highway. I received a speeding ticket for coming off the exit ramp doing 80 mph. I was 19 yo in 1975.

Fastest I've BEEN IN a car was a friend's V10 M6 with exhaust, filters and Remap and limiters removed- at 2:00am, going home from a party-
Empty Freeway, a lonely RS4 came past us at about 160km/h (100mph) - we were doing the speed limit at 120km/h (75mph)
He downshifted a few "hundred" gears, and planted it..... eventually we caught and passed, and then we decided to see how fast CAN an M6 go....
It felt like frikkin NeedForSpeed going through what are looong curves in the freeway that you dont even notice, become fast sweeping bends that pull G's!!!
eventually the needle touched 330km/h (205mph) - so i suppose true speed was just under 200mph.
The fastest i DROVE a car was his 2001 V8 M5 with stg1 NA bolt ons- when chasing him in his M6. The needle got to 290km/h (180mph) but then there was a slight bend in the freeway so i tapped off... HE KEPT THE M6 Planted... he said he DID S h 1 t himself a lil... :P

243 kph (151 mph) on the autobahn in my 350z. At 140 ish the car feels fine but after that it doesn't inspire confidence. I do notice quite a difference between my conti dws' and my re11's with the bridgestones being obviously better.
180 on a 636 is perfectly acceptable... I've seen a buddy do all of that on his 636. I know because I passed him on my R1, (mine was built though

Taller sprocket, PowerCommander dyno tune, and basic bolt ons - will absolutely allow for 180mph, even on a 636...the only question is how much room will it take....
15k in motor work for an extra 15-20mph....um, i don't think so. I've owned many a bikes, and I am well aware of speedo error, but with that said, I took a stock CBR f4i to indicated 158mph ( actually 150mph I would estimate) on multiple occasions.

Its takes around 140whp to hit 180mph on a sportbike.
I did 130 in the Z the first night I had it back in one piece. I had drove my Supra at 160+ and I actually saw 165 in my friends M3 and still had a gear to go! I chickened and let out of it.
I've personally seen 182 on a bike, and in a turbo eclipse gsx that I had a few years back with more money than I care to speak of invested I backed out as the 160 speedometer was topped. Given the chance, I'd like to see 2 bills on a bike at some point, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get the chance to do so in a safe environment.
