You can switch to tubular headers and test pipes. The pre-cats and catalytic converters you'd be replacing work by getting and staying really hot (to burn off excess fuel in the exhaust gasses).

According to wikipedia catalytic converters can withstand sustained temperatures of 900 °C (1,650 °F)

That's just a little bit hotter than your engine is running...

Never had a problem with this. Temperatures in Tucson run 100 plus through much of June and July and the ac keeps the car cool without straining. The Z is no hotter than my wife's much larger Honda CRV.

Nothing unbearable, even with the AC off and driving it on the track for 30 minute sessions. Daily driving, the AC works great, even in 120 degree Vegas heat.
