Default Nissan Heat

I have had this car for about a month now, and i can't help but notice that when i drive for more tan 20 min. exesive heat comes from the engine bay into the car, as the the floor heat was on. this was the same experience i had with my Infiniti J30 and Spec -v . Does anyone else feel this? I know i am not imagining this. what can i do short of wearing a friggen kilt year round?
I guess it brings new meaning to....man that car is hot?????

Z's have been well known for there exhaust system's routing to make the cabin very uncomfortable.

roll down a window a tad, put the vents to defrost mode but off, and feel the air being sucked in to your feet cool instead of hot!

It could be worse. You could be a Viper owner. That car is simply an oven

The engine bay is hot, and firewall insulation is nonexistent. If the ambient temperature is 50 degrees, the motor will keep your feet nice and cozy. No need to turn the heat on.

Pull the carpeting up and put up some heat resistant padding? It's normal. I had the same issue with my Spec-V. The way around it is putting the air-circulation mode on while driving, put leaving it off. Goes right away. If you notice, it also comes from the center console where the shifter is; right where the carpet meets the plastic.

I live in Florida and it is in the mid to upper 90s daily this time of year. My car sits out in the summer sun for several hours periodically and I have never encountered this.

When I get in the car it’s hot as hell; I role down the windows, drive for about 5min, turn on the AC, roll up the windows and its nice and cool inside in about another 5min.

Kilt??? Some SPF and a speedo would be more appropriate.

You don't know what heat is unless you live in South Texas. I just did an HPDE with a local Porsche Club of America group and had no issues with the heat, which was over 100 degrees that day. Did four (4) 20-minute sessions during the entire day and did not experience any heat in the cabin, at any time. It does help that I'm driving 80-100mph throughout each 20-minute session, which keeps the hot air out.

BTW, we took temperature readings of the parking lot in the pit area and they were hovering close to 130 degrees that day!!!

Interesting post, I never noticed this with my Z, but I'll be more aware of this when I drive now.

It only happens if/when you don't have A/C engaged. It's when all your controls are set off.

Yeah. If you run your fingers under the plastic by the carpet, you can feel the heat. When or if I get the console painted, I'm going to heat shield it.
