Z is number 5 on MSN
Here is a link to an MSN article about the 10 hottest sports cars calculated by searches on their auto site.

Unfortunetely, domestic peices of junk like the Mustang and Corvette were ahead of the Z, but that's got to be due to the fact that there are more stupid people than educated people in this country. Yeah, I'm mean, but you know it's true!
Oh, and did I mention that the Miata, Eclipse and a Saturn were all ahead of a Lamborghini on the list as well? A Miata?!? Seriously- is that really considered a sports car?!? Forget it- don't even bother looking at this list- it was obviously organized by someone who drives a moped. "Oh no he di-in!"

lmao, did none of you read the title to this?
it clearly states the sports cars that people have researched the most. Researching means cars that most people are able to afford. This is why you see miatas, mustangs, and saturns higher up, they are more affordable and more people will research it.

What the hell are you talking about? The C6 will out perform the Z in any and all categories.

As for your reply, I understand what you mean but "researching" does not mean "affordability". Case in point: I have been researching the Lamborghini Gallardo for months, but it is still out of my price range (for now...). And, I believe that they should re-word the title; to me, true sports cars do not have a back seat and are not available with a 4 cylinder engine, and plus (and this is a biggie), they should be FAST!!! Now, I feel that it would be acceptable to call a Miata (along with some of the others on the list) "sporty", but not label it as a sports car.

I know I'm a snob about car brands- you don't need to reply about that. Just know that it's due to being in the auto industry for 4 years and learning quite a bit about the differences between Japanese makes and all the rest. See for yourself- hang out in a Chevy or Dodge service area and then a Honda or Toyota service area.
And by the way, just because Ford says "Ford quality is now equal to Honda and Toyota quality" in their commercials, doesn't make it true. And what exactly does that mean? Souds like they are admitting that all of their vehicles in the past were of lesser quality- I'd be pissed if I was a Ford owner!!!

I'm not going to get into it again, but also the fact that a 5 year old Z and 5 year old Vette costing about the same used when the Vette started out about $20k higher is a factor as well. But hey, they look nice and are fast.

I guess by your own definition a Z is a piece of junk?

Um, my Z is a 2003 with over 60k miles on it and their aren't any noises. But I haven't modded it out either. My Toyota before that didn't make any noises either. And I know the Z isn't perfect, but it's domestic competition pales in comparison- I would hope you feel the same way, if you own a Z that is. And "my definition" referred not only to squeeks but resale value and service visits- so, no; MY Z is not a piece of junk.
Why are you on this forum if you don't favor the Z? And I can back up anything I say- I'm not just biased for no reason.

Your resale value comparison to a previous generation C5 to a current generation 350Z is flawed to say the least “oh and by my research, there was a 9k difference in price, not 20k.” Right now, there is a 6k difference, so I fail to see your point. Wait till the 370Z comes out and watch the 350Z plummet in value.
Any 16 year old with an allowance and a driver’s license will be able to get one. You will be looking at a $12k car in another couple of years. Can you find a $12k Corvette in good shape of any year?
I do in deed like my car very much, I just find it immature to start blasting other people’s cars, especially when that car is not “junk.” You sound just like the boys on the Honda forums.
Service visits? Ask the guys on here who have lost engines to the infamous oil consumption issues. Not just once, but several times. Look for tranny problems in the early models.
The bottom line is that there is always a better car, no matter what you have. To randomly spew out that someones car is a piece of junk is just immature.

I would never call a Corvette a junk, but I would say they are not really well-built. Just this past weekend, there were 2 Vettes at the service dept. when I was doing some up-close inspection, I noticed that the front bumper is not align with the hood, lol. If you look afar, you wouldn't see it, but up to the nose, you would. Then I went to another which was a $60,000+convertible, it had the same problem. I know this has been a problem for Vettes because of ownership, but in the grand scheme of things, they are a straight line beast and the current model is much more comfortable to drive/ride. I was so close on getting one that they put it on service port, but they wanted too much cash (around the cost of a Malibu)- I decide, not what they decide for me. If I put my Z for trade because of the equity I have on the car, it was a done deal. Z rates pretty high in my book, very easy to drive slowly and speedily. Vettes are not a good built junk, but if you haven't driven it, junk is not the word.
