Dude Buy the GTR, You would have to spend way more money to even try to compete with a GTR in your Z. Also I'm not sure if this is true but I heard rumors that Nissan was forcing a 2 year minum ownership before you could privatly sell. Not sure if its true, but does it really matter? Its a F***ing GTR man!!

Dude, get the HKS supercharger, lower the Z, and put some wheels on it. Drive it for awhile until you can find a used GTR in a few years.

Get the GTR if you could but... good luck finding someone to buy your Z for $27,000. You could find some Z's under $20,000 with low mileage fully loaded.

LOL Why do threads (there must be hundreds) like this always seem to end up as follows..

Im looking to buy *** or *** what should I do?

Inevitably cost is mentioned...

Which is always followed by this or similar textbook reply..

I think that I would rather have a GTR for that kind of money, and ironically enough I would save money compared to her upgrade.
Gotta luv this example tho...

Heck when I buy a car, house or whatever I never felt the need to ask others for help in the decision making process. Nor the need to explain my financial situation to a bunch of strangers when questioned...

Whats the point? Its your money buy what you want. As nobody really cares one way or another what ya get...

ooh yes because me simply stating how I can comfortably afford a 70k car really counts as me explaining my financial situation

Serious WTF is the point of your reply, to just pass quick judgment based upon a few pieces of information concerning my perception on cars, and post your condescending point of view on the whole situation as if it is truth?

All I wanted was just some advice on this situation and thankfully some people can be helpful.

I'm sure if you put 40K of engine mods in your Z right now, then will definitely beat the GTR. Besides I still can't believe the GTR doesn't come with a stick! part of it's manhood has been taken away.

Stay with the Z, if you want to be "exclusive" go with the GTR. If money is not an issue (like you state), then keep the Z and get the GTR.

+1 OP did you even start looking? Have you been able to locate one?

Like others have said if you can comfortably afford it why are you even contemplating this decision?

A GTR will cost 85K to 100K. next year they might come down in price but it's like asking if you should sell your boxster for a 911 turbo.

if you can find a GT-R for MSRP tell me... b/c I'll buy one

The Z you will get 23k for if you sell it now. so you spent 32k if you add 10k and get a build motor and a 200 shot of nos your car will be fast enough for any street challenges for less then 50k witch is half the price tag of a GT-R

QFT

also, your Z +10k in mods = 42k investment
a GTR will cost well over double that with taxes and dealer markup... so this is really a weird comparison. Two completely different beasts.

27K + 40K still wont buy a new GT-R. Maybe after a year or 2 will you find a used one in your price range, and at that point why not just buy new.

When i ran the numbers at my dealership (msrp +tax) it was 78K. I should have made the deal, and could have sold it upon delivery and made money. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Haha Oh well. Maybe later in life when i am ready for more expensive toys.
