To mod the Z or upgrade to a GTR, what to do...
with 110k plus to spend have you looked at alternative cars besides the z or the GTR? If speed and spending are big factors you could always just get the z06 for 70k

No car is an investment......investments don't depreciate

do you have sponsors? Or did you pay to do this to your car out of your pocket?

When i ran the numbers at my dealership (msrp +tax) it was 78K. I should have made the deal, and could have sold it upon delivery and made money. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Haha Oh well. Maybe later in life when i am ready for more expensive toys.

I'm thinking you are going to have a years wait to buy a GT-R. Most of the current crop is spoken for and people have deposits down on 2010 models already. Some of the '09's went for MSRP, I know of at least 3 in NC. But those were pre-order and any left after pre-orders are filled are going to go for a hefty premium. And anyone who pays 6 figures for a GT-R has more money than sense. Of course only IMHO. It's not my money. I would have to consider myself independently wealthy to plunk down that kind of money on a car I have never even sat in, or driven. And ditto that it is not an investment - you might sell it within the year for more than you paid for it but only because of it's rarity. There is one on ebay right now for 6 figures plus, and that is at a dealers. But you could drive it away tomorrow.
On a related note, has anyone seen one on the road in the states yet? A guy from our club is picking his up
in Columbia SC this weekend - he just sent us pics of it on the alignment rack.

Well I would like a GTR, but I'm also not an idiot. Paying over MSRP on a 70k+ car is just retarded in my opinion, especially if they are really going for close to 100k, might as well just buy a used Aston Martin V8 vantage and call it a day in that price range. I just don't get how these dealers are getting away with this, I though that Nissan was heavily against dealers marking up the price of their GTR because it goes so against Nissan's whole affordability philosophy.
And while the corvette Z06 is a seriously fast car, it just isn't for me. I have been down that GM road before and while the engines are amazing, the quality of the cars just leave too much to be desired. I'll take the amazing handling of the GTR over the vette any day of the week.

I think that I would rather have a GTR for that kind of money, and ironically enough I would save money compared to her upgrade.
911 turbo's don't go above msrp - there are 5 at the porsche dealership by my house and they are letting them go even a little less then msrp, now suck on that.
I would take the 911 turbo anyday over the gtr, and with the prices that gt-r's go for nowadays it's a smarter decision to grab a 911 turbo and call it a day.
IF I HAD to pay 120k either for gt-r or the porsche, i'd obviously get the porsche - now if nissan dealerships actually sold them for 70k then i would get the gt-r

people using up their retirement funds and their inheritance .. thats how they are getting away with it. As long as there is demand they can make the price what the **** ever they want it too be, and u cant do anything about it because billy got 10 million from his grandparents
