Default $1000 Order charge?

This may have been asked, but I am too lazy to go through 20 pages on the search.

Whoever ordered there Z, did you have to deposit a non-refundable $1000?

Thumbs down

I posted a REFUNDABLE $1000 deposit.

If anyone tries to charge you a non-refundable deposit, tell them to stick their "deal" up their [you know where] and go to a dealer that WANTS your business.

I put up a $1000 dollar deposite when I ordered my CS Touring, and it was just credited to my down payment when the car arrived. It didn't seem like a big deal to me.

I had to pay a $1000 non-refundable deposit on mine. That is pretty much the only thing that kept me from cancelling my order a few weeks later.

Why did you want to cancel?

BTW, what's the point in requiring a deposit if it's refundable?

Just last week I put down a $1K deposit for an 04. I honestly didn't even ask if it was refundable or not as I didn't care. I know I am buying the car. They are applying the $1K as a downpayment.

Put the money on the credit card but don't sign any papers that say it is not refundable. If you decide that you don't want it and they don't give you your money back call your credit card company and dispute it. You will get back your money (and the dealer will curse you for life ).

Posted a non-refundable 1G deposit... guess that gamble worked out well, though I don't advise anyone to do it now as the demand of the Z has since dropped drastically (and competition between dealers is even greater now than before).

500 refundable for my pre-order

Also the point if it being refundable is that you still have to come in and get your money so the dealership is not waiting on you to decide if you want the car

Default deposit

nope, walked in, offered a license, tax, title, etc etc single dollar figure, and said "fifteen minutes or less", and the dealer complied. Best purchase experience to date in 29 years...
