Looks like I will be driving the Z for another year
The GTR is a car that surprisingly enough caught me by surprise. I really wasn't too big on this car until I saw it being taken around the track in Top Gear, and then I was instantly sold. Ever since then the more I learn about this car, and the more I see it, the more I fall in love with it. I was lucky enough to find my 06 Z used a few years ago when 06's were still new on the lot, which saved me a good $10k off the sticker for a superior trim. I really fell in love with Nissan engineering with this car, and the GTR is just Nissan performance engineering to the extreme, and I simply adore it.
I have yet to drive this car but I still know that it is the one car that I will gladly sell my Z for, and the one car that I truly desire. So since I can easily afford the extra cost's for this car after selling my Z (if we are talking MSRP here), when I went to get my oil changed the other day I stepped into the showroom and stoke to a salesman. As it turns out by no surprise to to me the demand on these things is just absolutely crazy, and the expected markup is expected to be in the range of $30k! Obviously this is way more than I would even think about spending on such a car (markup is as much as I paid for my Z entirely), so it looks like I will have to wait until at least the next model year till I can have one of these amazing machines.
The thing is that I really don't mind. I still love my Z, I still love how it drives, and I will still love every minute of it until the one day that the GTR finally starts selling for MSRP, and I just hope that year is next year, because then I know that I will be in for one hell of year no matter what else happens. Maybe it is for the best anyways, hopefully next year some problems will me ironed out, and then hopefully I will be ready.
Only question's I have now are just how practical is the GTR compared to the 350z, and how likely is it that the GTR will sell for MSRP next year?

Say like..... http://www.mygtr.com/forum/
I'm sure some people here remember the year before the 350z was first introduced. There was a lot of the same speculation about availability and price. Only time will tell. I highly doubt they will be able to get anywhere near a $30k premium on these cars in this market. In either case, you will pay more during the first year of production. Wait a year and you'll probably get one for MSRP.
One more thought. The GT-R is one ugly car, which may ultimately affect the price. I guess if you want the biggest bang for your buck (based on MSRP) the GT-R is the way to go. Personally, i'd take a ZO6 over the GT-R any day.

i agree with the looks department.. the gt-r looks like one ugly fat kid with down syndrome.. but with retardism.. you get superhuman tard strength! which where the twin turbo comes into affect.
the only reason i would pick the gt-r is that.. a Fillipino would look funny driving a z06.. (secretly i wouldn't mind the z06..
) unless i'm like retired.. but then.. by then i would rather drive some german car with my trophy wife. lol

I'm not denying the fact of it's abilities; I don't remember EVER saying that. I said I hate it in my opinion. Sorry if it hurts your feelings. They just look really over-done. Someone worked TOO hard on it. I feel some Brute in Halo3 would drive something like that with a missle pod on the back.

I wonder if any of these people have driven one. Hell, I picked the C5 over the Z. Couldn't imagine anyone getting the Z over a C6Z. Whatever floats your boat.

If you'd rather have a Vette, why drive a Z?
I don't like the way they look. Apparently your reading skills aren't up to snuff so let me reiterate this in the easiest form possible.
