Some Nissan fans you guys are.

Ahem... Nissan Xterra SC option...
Somebody correct me if i'm wrong but i don't remember the 240, 260 or 280z's being offered with a factory TT. The 280zx was the first i believe. As for not having a 350z TT, I'm sure the cost of production was the killer. The starting MSRP would have probably been in the mid $40k range which would mean a very limited market. Probably couldn't sell enough to justify the production costs.

from the 240z/280z/300zx tt.. if i'm forgetting a model oppsie.. but yea.. what does the 350z get? just the nismo 350z, which i bet handles like its on rails. heck to think about it, even the s12/s13/14/15 has a turbo version.. but why skip the 350z?
i bet there will be a few of you that wouldn't mind driving a street legal turbo'd z..
well yea.. just a thought..

i was just nameing the Z's that came turbo'd from factory.. the only time i mentioned TT was when i was referring to the 300zx..sorry for the confusion.
if it was offered single turbo setup or twin turbo offered in the mid $40k i wouldn't think that its that bad.. since people are willing to buy the gtr around $70k (sorry if im worng with the price)

well.. let me put it this way... basicly they offered a turbo version of all of the previous Z's but left out the current version(and i think they would go back anytme soon since the gtr came out) and i don't think they thought about the new GTR's back in 2002 (if nissan did we'll damn... just shoot me lol)
and yeah the production cost would have went up.. but why not offer atleast a limited amount of turbo'd 350z, just like the nismo 350z?
we get the nismo 350z, instead of making the car handle better.. they should of used the added markup and put in a turbo'd.. and you can just throw on some aftermarket handleing goodies. how much do the nismo 350z cost compared to the regular 350z?
companys have done it in the past and release a limited version, one company that comes to my mind is the Mitsubishi. Galant turbo.. trustworthy engine ..4 doors..awd..limited amount (sorry i'm a mitsu fan too
).. wouldn't any of you guys would rather get a turbo'd 350z compared to a 350z with a better suspension setup? cause i would
Ehrem. The S15 (A 240SX in America even though they were no producted here) came factory turbo'd via SR20det black tops. Now, I can see why the 350 did and did not come factory turbo'd for a couple reasons:
1. Of course, the production costs. Probably different engine platform, has to be built, etc.
2. Hello! What's more obvious than gas prices. Turbo's aren't usually the greatest gas efficient mod on the market.
3. Too much power which would divert a good amount of sales. Some people don't need or want that power.
4. Treat it wrong and bye bye car and hello heavy rod knock aka bye bye engine.
There are alot of things that tie into a turbo from the factory. Nissan made a smart move for the economy (not so much for us enthusiasts) with not going turbo simply because of the large amount of problems they foresee in the future.
Damn you Nissan but that you at the same time.

Has no clue what a sports car is all about.
1. 350z had bugs after bugs and Nissan didn't want to lose an audience by having a very unreliable car.
2. New leadership brought back an affordable Z. Didn't it go into hibernation when the MSRP was in the upwards of $40k-$50K?
3. Nissan was going through hard times until Carlos Ghosn revitalize the Z back to the US.

and a couple of others which is drawing a blank in my head... and if "import" is not bordered to Japanese cars, then you also have Euro cars... which there are too many to name
