Just want to gauge the interest in a Mt. Diablo Drive/Meet on Sat 08/09/03. This is about 2 week advance notice. Hopefully, we can get some of the Sac people and east bay people to come join us.

I will setup 3 meet points: South Bay, Sac, and East Bay.
Since I'm only familiar with South and East Bay, I'm gonna need some help with organizing the meet point in Sac. (John, can I count on you? ) It will also be nice to have a point person for the East Bay meet point as well. (please pm me or reply here if you like to help out)

Overall, I'm looking at having a meet point at South Bay and Sac about an hour before the East Bay. The East Bay meet point will most likely be somewhere in Walnut Creek. Once we all meet up at the East Bay meet point, we can grab lunch then head on over to drive up Mt. Diablo.

I'll post more specific details later this week. Keep checking back on this thread for more info. I'll also try to have some meet info handouts at the 8/2 Z by the bay event.

The Devils (Mt. Diablo) run/meet will be on Sunday 08/10/03.
There will be 3 meeting points at different time. Here are the first two, I still need to work out the detail for Sacramento.

South Bay Meet Point

Where: Lion Plaza right between 880/680 off Mission Blvd.

Supposely the view is breathtaking so bring a camera and your significant other (Z for me ) if you so desire. The drive will be an easy pace (the un-THC style ).

I don't know Mt Diablo Rd so it's probably in my best interest to drive a bit slower than we did coming down the backside of Mt Hamilton

 

I never been on that road either, but heard nothing but good things about it. Hopefully with some flyers on Saturday, we can get a huge meet going. Now, just need some Sac folks to step up and setup a meeting point. Time to give good old John a ring

 

Ill go on this one, but dont know the road either. But I think my brother went on here before in one of the bimmer meets.

 

about how long or how many miles is the whole road we're gonna take? Man hopefully it will be a nice day that day... is there like a vista point where we could line up all our Z's and take pics too? from the website.. the place looks like them commercials

 

It's 11 miles to the summit (one way). Then you come back down but not the same way so maybe 15-20 miles round trip but alot of turns. You should read this:
