Only true on the brembo equiped cars and cars with the 06 and newer car with the better brakes. 03 to 05 brakes are the biggest downfall for a car that is considered a sportscar.

i used to be a muscle car fan.
before i got my Z, i was aiming for a V8!

my gf pointed out a silver Z and told me to just take it for a test drive.
I never let go of that car since.

my guess about why people hate the Z so much is bcoz it looks a lot better than any other coupe in its class, chix dig it, and it's got a good mix of power and handling. what else can you ask for?

far as i know, AWD's are for people who cant drive.

Ya I dont know about that AWD are for people who cant drive..
IMO its harder to launch an AWD car... ive had plenty of them, so I know...
I think the RWD is easier to launch...
ah, either way.. the Z does a lot of things well, but nothing perfect..

the Z indeed is a great car for the money.. glad I bought mine.
I'm not really sure what you're talking about in regards to the EVO but I get to drive my friend's EVO from time to time and other than a BOV, larger down pipes and exhaust the thing is a freakin beast! Quite the opposite of a "childs play toy." And yes, he's driven my Z and loves driving it...the difference is my Z is sexy and his EVO is just that...his EVO.

Z's are impressive cars. I come from a long line of pissed on cars...Miata's, SRT4, Miata's again, DSM in LT1 country (back in the days of the LT1)....so I try not to let the hate get to me. Its possibly part of the reason I'm so terrifically sarcastic.

I fap myself everynight for buying a Z. It always hits the spot.

oh sorry i forgot to specify - on my earlier post i was refering to circuit driving. with awd u can exit a bend a lot earlier than RWD, which is a big advantage over the rwd. that plus other features these guys have, like the "launch control" from the R32, "active yaw control" from Evo, etc etc.

imo, too much involvement of a car's "technology" takes out the fun and thus covering the driver's true (or in some cases, lack of) skills. and for me, RWD shows how talented a driver is in a circuit / autox race.

The only assist i would need from my Z is the ABS plus a good LSD. thats it.

anyways, im not at all saying that Z is the best of the best of the best. im simply saying that the thrash talks that people give to the Z arent justifiable.

I was always a firm believer that people hated on the 350z because the owners tend to be a bunch of cocky arseholes???

j/k

On a serious note:

People feel the need to tear it down because it's kind of a bold car. It makes "look at me" noises, it's eye-catchy and has alot of curves. Theres nothing really humble about the way the car swaggers down the street. And this is for a bone stock car under 30k.

The people who hate may not be envious, but they don't like the attention the Z gets especially when it's something affordable to their peers.

I mean for the past 3-4 years there wasn't a magazine that I didn't open where I couldn't find a picture of the 350z. Dead serious...
You name it: Every modified car magazine, Eurotuner, Men's Fitness, Motortrend, a tire ad in Entertainment Weekly it was literally everywhere.

If I didn't have a Z I would hate too, or at least exploit it's weaknesses.
But I fall into the category of people who try to appreciate cars for what they are.

well said, and +10 on the Z being in every car magazine the past few years, either for sale, for mods, or just because, the Z has been there, done that

What? I said the 350Z's interior isn't that great but it's livable? Sports cars are supposed to be raw and a drivers car. You shouldn't be massaged, pampered and given head while going 60 around a corner (the head part is arguable )

I drive a Lexus IS300 and the interior is pretty good but the 350Z's interior isn't as bad as a lot of people say it is. I've driven one for about an hour and I wasn't going OH GOD WHY ISNT THE HEADLINER SUEDE?!?! WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY VANILLA LATTE THIS IS A POOR GUYS CAR PLASTIC WTF IS THIS?!?! and all that haha

If the 370z looks as it does in the leaked photos ive seen so far then its gonna be terrible looking IMO. I'd rather just keep my 350z and do some FI work. Im currently looking into what single turbo system or superchrager im going to have installed. Have you seen the pics yet of the 370z?

I have an '03, I bought stock brembo calipers from a wreck and bought new rotors, pads, and brake lines for them, Good as new lol. Theyre so much better than stock ones that came on the touring edition its not even funny.

I've been complimented on my Z for having the perfect combination of sport and class. Not too showy like the evo or sti which scream performance, and and nearly as classy as the eastern scene with its curves. Not mention the high customability. Even the 03 Z's with a new set of shoes and some sort of exterior mod look sweet even after being five years old. I'm waiting for the 370Z to come out so I can slap some new rims and a new body kit to update the Z look and keep up in the field. Its up to our community to make the best of what the Z has offered us which is needless to say quality enough.
