Problem with 1st and 2nd Gear -- Help!
Guys,
I need some help from anyone with more experience with manual transmissions. On 2 occasions, shifting from 1st to 2nd and releasing the clutch fully and applying the gas, there was a delay in the transmission and the car jerked forward about 3 or times before properly engaging. I took it to the dealership and of course they said they couldn't find anything wrong.
It seemed as if the clutch hadn't released fully although I had totally removed my foot. I hope someone can shed some light on my situation.

Sounds like the Z is the first MT car you have owned right? You mentioned that your foot was completely off the clutch right? Sometimes when you release too quickly, the car is simply going fast enough to not stall, but since the clutch was released way too early/too fast, it takes a few jerks of the car to sync in gear. I used to do this all the time when I first bought a stick shift car.
If you are skilled in driving MT and this has never happened to you before, then I would say that you have a clutch problem (which has been posted on the repair section).
