Default Glove Compartment

Ok, I've had my car for a couple of months now and i really hate the fact that the "glove compartment" is in the back......that is so stupid......actually, im pretty stupid for not realising this the first day i drove it cause i usually stashed what i needed in that empty plastic NAVI spot (guys w/o NAVI knows what im talking about...haha) anyway, just wanted to vent

Does anyone know why there's no glove compartment where most cars have them? Looks like there's room for one.

to share more parts between the rhd and lhd models.

also the glove box would have been a joke as it is in many cars these days. with this setup you have a HUGE "glove box" even if it is a little tricky to get to.

I believe there is no front glove box because of the FM(front-midship) setup of the engine, which of course is shared with many other platforms. In other words it boils down to $.

The only time I use a glove box is when I get pulled over, so I don't mind about them too much. I don't wear gloves, either.

What does bother me though is that there's an indentation where the pass. side air bag is setup. It looks extraordinarily cheap.

i read somewhere, in the owners manual maybe, that nissan didnt want to have any distractions for the car, the car is a driver's car. thats why the cup holder fits so far back in the center console, and that mini cup holder where the glove compartment should be is meant for the passenger.

nissan doesnt want any distractions for the driver, BUT they will put a $2000 nav system right in the middle of the dast!

That doesn't explain the G35C having not one, but two.

Use the arm compartment, I took the cupholder thing out and there's lots of room for all kinds of stuff, LED flashlight, pack of cigs and lighter (Never smoke in it though) Laptop Harddrive, Lanyard and badge for work, couple pens, set of brass knuckles... lol
