Default Inspection hassle...maybe a favor

So I purchased my 05 Z back in May and the previous owner had blacked out the tail lights and signal lights in the rear as well as the front bumper reflector lights. That with the Seibon CF hood on a PPW Z actually looked good so I left it all in place. Anyway, I live down in Seabrook (Harris County) and I went to get my inspection done this morning (after I put a good coat of wax on her so she would look nice for the morning stroll) and after handing the guy my proof of insurance and my keys he took it into the garage. A couple of minutes later he pulled it out of the garage and calls me over...he tells me that the film on the tail lights were not DOT approved and that he couldn't inspect the car until the film was removed from the tail lights. So I take her home (consoling her, letting her know that it wasn't her fault and that some people just don't appreciate beauty) and pull off both tail lights and remove the film. I put her back together and cleaned everything up and drove her out of the garage. I got out to look at her and to my surprise...she looked freakin awesome...now I can get those red Sparco seats I was eyeing...lol. Took her back up and voila! Passed inspection in 10 minutes

I don't think they are "rice"

I think rice refers to a poor choice in a Japanese styling and tinted tails are not a Japanese thing as far as I know.

They are tacky though!

I'm going to go ahead and respectfully disagree.

Actually, on my PPW with the carbon fiber hood it looked good. Then again, I like it without the tint as well.
