First Z was deilvered to a retail customer on Aug 15th. Earliest deliver to a regular on this board was Raceboy which was the 20th (if I remember correctly). Mine was deliverd on the 23rd.

So its a few more weeks until the 1st year celebrations begin.

I'm in the same time frame as most of you . I'm just curious , I tried to PM one of you , and never got a response , so we'll try someone else who is a little more helpful . Did any of you ( us ) have any of the tire feathering /cupping problems with your early preorder cars ? I haven't yet , and was curious if anyone else has . Did we dodge the bullet with these early preorders and if so , why do you think we missed this problem . I'd appreciate hearing from all of you here ! Thanks again .

ps Let's hear what kind of mileage you have , too . Thanks !

FrankieZZ, I have not had any of those tire problems. I think most were caused by over tightning the cars to the ship while on the trip from japan. The ship our cars must have been on had a smooth trip. I'm sure the others are having there problems due to a combination of over tightning and rough seas. The cars took a beating on the 2 week trip.. Honda was the first to admit this problem on some of there cars made in japan.

Steve , thanks for getting back on that . I'm beginning to agree ! When I was up in Canada for the Canadian Gran Prix , I spoke to a Bridgestone rep at the Ferrari exhibit at Jacques Cartier Place and told him about all the REO40 tire concerns . His explanation after I spoke to him about the possibility of the tie down problem , was that was probably the reason . He said that Bridgestone has had that happen before with other cars affecting their tires . He went on to say the tire was custom made to Nissan's requirement , ergo , it had to do with Nissan, either the way the cars were transported or engineered . But you would think Nissan would now correct for this , yet it's still occurring ! How about any other early preorders ? Anyone else the exception to the rest of us ? Any tire wear from you early preorders and when did it start ?I guess we really do have a lot to celebrate !

I've got #891, and I definatly have the feathering problem. I got the tires swapped around at 9K, and I can already see feathering again at 12K. My next mod is going to be the S-Tune suspension. I hope that solves the problem.

I just don't see how tying the car down would cause this problem. Once the car is back in aligment, everything should be just fine. I had my car aligned as soon as the TSB for it came out. Still seeing the problem. Personally I am hoping that its a dampening rate vs spring rate mis-match that is causing some bounce in the wheel and that the S-Tune will get rid of it.

I never have had the feathering problem but I did have the pull to the right problem.

their first fix was new front tires and another alignment. It still had a slight pull.

Just last week my new part came in and they installed it and the pull is now officially gone. It was a small extension / pole up in the front right a arm or something up there and it moved the front right tire toward the front of the car 2-3 millimeters. They did another alignment and it drives straight now!

Oh yeah, my Z's birthday is not until October. Currently have 7700 miles.

Aug 23rd for me (17k miles) and plenty of feathers to go around. Since I just bought new tires on my nickel, the S-Tune suspension will be next mod.

My anniversary will be 9/11/03. Super Black Performance no problems at all with car. Has run flawlessly. Do have the window grease issue but no biggie. Had a rattling noise in rear tracked down to the rear window brake light. It was repaired by the dealer in 1/2 hour. Other than the above have no other problems. In the 11 months have put on 3990 miles.
