well like the title says im so pissed right now i would get appraised 17-20k on a 07 350z enthusiast the car is in great condition with only 8k miles
i was thinking about selling it and waiting for a 370z or buying me a sti but if i do i will end up losing it all even the cash i gave

that is why it is so low. no car company will go that much upside down on a car barely a year old when you owe that much (maybe more). looks like you will have to wait to get that new car. that sucks but there is no one to blame but yourself for not waiting.

 

I just pulled NADA for a 2004 base with 50k miles and they say clean retail is $17,000. Don't trade it in at a dealership, they will only rip you off. Sell the car out right. NADA for a 2007 is $24,000 on NADA. If you sell it yourself you can get over $22k for it. It might take a month or so, but you will make an extra $5k. I just sold my 2000 Celica so that I can buy a Z. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they told me it was worth $4300. I sold it for $7100 in two weeks after listing it on auto trader for $7300. Look into your options and don't be in rush.

 

Oh, also, normal people who buy cars from other non dealership people usually go buy NADA or Blue Book. So if you sell it for $1,000 below those numbers, people will think they are getting a good deal over buying at a dealership. Private party selling is win win imo

 

he could do that , but since he said it is not paid off he would need to try and sell it for the amount at or above what he still owes on the car. any smart shopper would pass on something like that, even if it was in pristine condition (which is what that max amount in KBB is reserved for)

 

Agree. You are asking a potential buyer to buy a car that you do not own. That puts you at a terrible disadvantage.

 

I tend to like the appraisals at Edmunds.com. They seem to be very realistic. KBB is way off, and NADA is biased towards the industry. Edmunds seems more realistic on both the trade-in and retail end.

Depending on color, region of the country, and condition, and weather you have an auto or a manual, I would say that you should be able to get 20k from a dealer and maybe 22k from a private party. Keep in mind however, that the sports car market has taken a nose dive in the last 6 months and with winter approaching the demand will be even less.

If you really want to sell your car, PM me. I'm looking for an '07 and may consider an enthusiast. Don't bother if the color is silver or if it is an auto however.

Don't feel bad i received a quote of 21,000 for my mint condition 07 nismo,2200 miles,still smells new.I wanted to get an evo but like i said in another post..i'll drive it till the wheels fall off before i let it go for that and yes it's got a clear title.

every 4th car here in SoCal is a 350z . The resale value is going to be lower right now due to it being an impractical 2 seater sports car, not to mention a failing economy, but factor in the fact that so many people have them and are now selling just adds to your resale woes.

It's called depreciation. You usually take the biggest hit during the first two years of ownership. Sure the lagging economy is affecting sales but not really the "value" of your car. The smart thing to do is just drive the car and pay it off. In a few years you can sell it and buy a used 370z after someone else has taken the depreciation.

 

damn that is horrible. Keep the Z! Or best thing to do is to sell it privately without trading it in..

 

im in the same boat.. my 03 with 37k miles isnt worth squat compared to what I bought it for..
its disappointing..
