Exclamation Help Me With My Z!

First of all, Hello all as this is my first post on this site or any as the matter of fact. I just got my 2003 Z. Its cool to see so many people so knowledgeable in one place on something so cool as the Z.

I don't think I should be saying this but, I don't know anything about cars. All I know is that when I drive my Z is just something else.

I would like to work on the performance of the car, I mean by being able to smoke your average ride that plays cocky on the road. I am looking for affordable suggestions in making this happens.

As we all know this stuff gets expensive. All I have now is stock car with 20" rims, and a INJEN air intake (or cold air intake don't know the difference if there is any).

I was trying to find out what should I use, turbo or supercharger, or if even one was needed. and if I choose any other, do I need to upgrade otherstuff so I don't burn something?

I know this is a long post, I really do appreciate all the help, and hope to gain enough knowledge to return the favor. Thank you all for your time.

google: superchargers vs. turbo chargers
And yes it would require upgrading your fuel delivery system, intake and exhaust for optimal performance. You may even have to upgrade engine internals to prevent your engine from instantaneously splitting itself apart into a million pieces simultaneously followed by a fiery explosion forcing yourself to voluntarily dowse it with fire retardant and call your grandmother for a ride home.

you would probably have a better respose if your thread was posted on the appropriate forum. try a 300zx forum vs. a 350Z forum.

try this: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=ut...%20forum&type=

just take your time and read all the post regarding turbo vs. supercharger before you invest in anything.

Where in the world did you get 300ZX? lol
I actually read the thread like 5 times to figure out any hidden clues, lol

Most things in life are relative. What type of car do you want to smoke? Most cars you can already beat, depending what city you live in, and your neighborhood. The houses near my appartments are multimillion dollar homes. So most of the cars here can beat the crap out of my Z. Especially those 7 series BMW.

If you want to see significant power gains. You will have to spend atleast 9K for a basic Turbo setup. That is tunning, installation, and purchase of a turbo kit. My dream setup is going to run me atleast 15k (I estimate). I know there are some people here that have done that for way less .

Check out this site.

What I would suggest is that you invest in knowledge, read a lot more, learn. Instead of buying something that you don't know how it works. You appreciate things better if you know the quality and value behind it.

geomark, I know you were born knowing your Z inside out. I also know that you have better things to do than to deal with beginners.

I DJ professionally at the RA Club inside the Luxor in vegas. Which I am willing to teach and help out any rookie DJ out there. Cause 13 years ago I was one of them, and guess what? A$$es were also trying to shut some doors. So I try not to be part of that problem today.

Thanks for the help though

Cool man , first of all check out 350zen.org its the local Vegas Z group, most of us on this site too. Cruise out to our meets and talk to people, learn more about your car , and learn what you can do with it.

First order of business if you want to smoke others , buy new wheels. 18's are your friends. Second is the driver mod, on the other board we have the local vegas track events listed.
