Default My 350Z isn't water tight

So it rained a lot this past Saturday and my Z has a small leak on the passenger side door . I noticed a small drop about the size of a dime and a couple other small drops right where the tweeter/inside mirror is.

So to make sure I was not at fault I made sure the window was all the way up and the door was completely closed. I then wiped up all the water and went to work. I checked a couple hours later and the water was back so I have to make a trip to the dealer next weekend (I am away at school during the week but luckily the car is garaged).

Since I have fixed new cars with small leaks when I was a technician it doesn't bother me too much. I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.

On a happy note I hit 450 miles this weekend and cannot wait to get to the break in point and really see what the cars got .

Dan

Dan, it might be a failure in the window motor that was designed to ensure that when you open the door the window goes down just a bit.....and goes up when you close the door. Just go to the dealer. Believe us, we've had some window motor issues since 03

I've had the same thing happen twice on the driver's door- no biggie here.... Twice in 4 1/2 years...I can live with it.

Thanks guys I am going to call tomorrow and make the appointment. Like I said I wasn't overly bothered by it, I was curious as to whether this was a common problem or not

On a side note this is no where as bad as what happened to my 2002 Rsx. The headlights failed as the sun was going down. Luckily I was close to home.

you could adjust the positioning of the window and see if that helps?

just take off the door panel, loosen the window bolts and adjust as nessessary.

I had a similar problem over the weekend. After Hurrican Hannah hit, i opend my drivers side door and water just poured out. it just seemed that the water had collected where the door meets the body. my seats were dry and so was the floor...so i didnt really freak out. oh..the passenger side was the same.

I brought her in for service yesterday. I will let everyone know what fixed the leak so anyone out of warranty has a good starting point.

If they fix it, I'm definitely taking mine in, too. I drove it the other week and got caught in the rain, and water was leaking in through what seemed like my clutch.

Pretty gay. Keep us updated, I don't know how to prove this to the dealership other than going there in the rain.

And the winner is (drum roll please).....Brrcats in post 10. They adjusted the glass to form a better seal with the molding. Totally could have done it myself as I have the FSM and have done this many times before when I was a tech.

Since I am at school though it makes it easier just to drop it off. Picking her up tomorrow!! I can't wait to drive. Seriously I have no idea how I have not bought something for this car yet.
