Default Recall

I overheard a mention a recall for the G35 regarding a brake light. Anyone know if this is applicable to the Z? I expect it would.

From what I understand, it is an issue with the brake lights not illuminating when the brakes are engaged. Here are the details of the G35 recall:

Q:\PRODSUP\Campaigns\!FY03-G35 Brake Lamp Switch\Infiniti Net 03-06-04.doc
Subject: 2003 G35 Brake Lamp Switch Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign
Attention – Dealer Principals, Sales, Parts and Service Managers
***** Campaign Announcement *****
Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign on approximately 58,163 Model Year
2003 Infiniti G35 vehicles. On certain model year 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedans and Coupes, the
contact points for the stop lamp switch may oxidize, which can eventually result in a loss of
continuity and could cause the stop lamps to not illuminate when the brake is applied.
To prevent this condition from occurring, Infiniti will replace the stop lamp switch at no charge to
the customer.

An initial shipment of kits is scheduled to arrive at your dealership on Friday, June 6, 2003. There
are 2 kits (P/N 25320-AX027 and P/N 25320-AX028) that are applicable to this campaign repair.

VIN Ranges
G35 Coupe 6M and G35 Sedan 5A
000030-026621

G35 Coupe 5A and G35 Sedan 5A
300019-326542

It appears G35 Sedan 6M are not included.
This was taken from the G35 Freshalloy.com forums. You can read more here:

I have no idea if this is a Nissan wide problem, but it appears to have only affected certain G35s, not all.

might be restricted to the LED type lighting... otherwise almost all of the cars they make should use the same brakelight switch.

the last time this "smart ***" went out to his garage...his car still said 350Z on the back of it...not G35.

Why get paranoid if the G35's are falling apart...lest that's just your nature! This smart *** has better things to worry about! But have at it man!
