Quick question. I was called out of town unexpectedly about eight days ago (mom's in the hospital). I was wondering whether I should have my wife turn over the engine while I'm gone. If it makes any difference, I have a '07 350Z.

My wife doesn't know how to drive a car with a manual transmission but she knows how to start one.

But is this something I should even worry about? I won't be home for at least another week. What advice do you guys have to offer? Wasn't sure how to do a search for this topic ...

 

Unless you have something causing an unnatural drain on the battery, two weeks is nothing to worry about. Take care of your family and rest assured that your Z will be just fine until you return.

But I'm gonna uncork on you, Lonewolf. I've been at my mom's bedside for eight days. Around the clock. I simply posed a question on this forum using the hospital's Wi-Fi while she was resting. I don't appreciate the implication that this somehow makes me subhuman. My question was one of those that comes to you in the dark of a quiet hospital room. It's not as if I've been sitting here doing nothing but wonder what was gonna happen to my *beloved* Z. I'd rather drive a damned Geo Metro the rest of life than see my mom like this.

So, yeah, get bent, a-hole.

 

don't worry about it man, I went back to Thailand for like a month and just left my Z the way it is. I didn't disconnect the battery or asking someone to start it at all, hell, I even takes my key with me so no one is touching or going inside the Z when I'm gone. When I came back, I start up just fine.

Do you know how far I move? 0 feet, I just stand in a good horse. If i choose to step back with my right foot, I can knock someone back further. The 1 inch punch is just an exercise anyhow, it isn't meant to be used in that way, really.

Your Z will be fine. I have an 07 with 4400 miles. Sometimes I go 3 weeks w/o starting it in my garage and it cranks right up. I hope everything turns out okay with your mom.

Anyway i went to greece for 3 months z was fine. although i think my father took it for some joy rides.
