Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Just playing with the OP, thought your skin was strong enough (with almost 12,000 posts) to take a little ribbing.
Plus, I thought the smilie faces might have kinda indicated the humorous intent.
My apologies.
Enjoy your car.

If OP = Oversized *****, then you're correct.

Don't get me wrong, its all much appreciated advise, and I do have much to learn from existing 350Z owners, but I was hoping to get a nugget of previously unknown 350Z technical wisdom by posting this question. Like maybe ....I don't know.....remove the engine cover to see if there are minute traces of oil at the gasket seams or something....or check the batch code because that production lot had engine bore issues......I don't know, something like that I suppose.

Things I learned to look for:
If equipped with Bose - Head unit has a tendency to go bad, leave it on for a while and make sure sound is coming from all speakers and sub. Sometimes one side will go out, if so smack the side of the HU, if it comes back on you know what it is.
Check windows - Try rolling them up and down, if one rolls up a lot faster then the other thats usually a sign that the window motor is going bad.
Front tire feathering - Check the insides of your front tires and look out for excessive wear or tire roar while driving down the road. Nissan will simply just replace your tires but the problem will remain.
Manual Trans - Early model Z had bad trans problems. Make sure there is no gear grind and you can shift easily through all gears.
Finally jack the car up and take a look underneath make sure the exhaust is in good shape, one of my buddies took a speed bump too fast and hit one of the cats pretty hard, ended up breaking inside and caused problems down the road.
Also look at your belts when I first got my Z the ac belt was shredded.
Take a look in the spare tire area too, make sure everything is there. The idiots at the dealership I bought mine from took the spare out and hosed down the back end. There is a mat under the spare, needless to say it never dried creating mold. Took me a while to figure that out

Well good luck!

If you have powered leather seats check the switches. Try moving the seat around a couple of times to see if everything works ok. Sometimes the switch goes bad and you have to play around with it to get it to work.
Thats all I can think of for now.
