Default Last Day With the Z

Tomarrow is my last day with my lovely z. I'm gonna miss her but it had to be done. I'm getting a white auto yaris, yes I know what you are thinking, but $80+ a week on gas sucks and I hated daily driving the car. I'm gonna save about $200-$400 a month. Also I'm getting a 89 240 tomarrow and gonna turbo the ka24e later on next spring.

Check out my stuff I have for sale

damn dude. All I can say is ur making a bad decision.

I don't understand how people can "hate" daily driving a Z lol. The car feels great through all the gears in town.

But I guess I have to give it to you that you have your priorities right with saving money. Ever thought of getting a cheap gas sipping auto daily driver and keeping the z?

Edit: I didn't know what a yaris was when i first responded...wow Now I definetly have to say that I could never make the switch from a 2 seater sports car to a car like a yaris lol. Whatever floats ur boat I guess

sucks about the yaris, but at least that 240 should be a lot of fun once you give it a turbo.

For the savings part, have you done the actual math to see how much you save after selling your 350 and buying a new car? You have to drive A LOT of miles to make up for the depreciation.

I guess you couldn't keep both of them, eh? That's too bad.

But if you were going to get a Yaris, in that class, did you ever consider the Honda Fit? More cargo room, better handling, better crash-test rating (safer).

I ask because I almost bought a Yaris just for the mpg, but then I realized that it didn't have enough practical utility for me (I haul a lot of things around).

I commend your choice to save money, it's a smart decision. Good job!

I second the Fit over the Yaris. I read somewhere that the Yaris is NOT that great of a Toyota product, that it's quality was horrible.

Why is it that everyone complains about gas? I think my car gets decent gas mileage for a sports car. I average about 25-29 on the highway and atleast 18 in city. A turbo'd car isnt going to be good on gas at all, unless you never go into boost. But good luck OP.

Well. You're gonna have to change your name then.

And did you really do the math on this one?

Did you lose your job or get a reduction in pay or something? Why all the sudden the need to "save money" on Gas?

Nothing puts on display a cheap *** penny pinching scrooge like a middle aged man in a Yaris...

I hear you man, I traded my jaguar s-type for a 4cyl accord a few months back. Best decision I ever made.

I used to spend $100+ on gas for the week with the jag now I spend 1/2 of that.

Did you forget that not only gas went up, but everything ELSE! So yes gas is not the only thing but it a easy way to save money by replacing the Z or any car with a more fuel effcient car. The Z gets average 18-19mpg on a mixed driving, the Yaris or Fit or Civic would get 35 mpg average. That is a large savings over a tank every time you fill up.

Get a smart car and do a busa swap into it. Still gets great mileage and you can rape most cars on the road.

Sad to hear that, but you gotta do what you gotta do... and nobody need to approve of the change of your ride. I'm also in the calculation mode to see what fits my family's needs. I love my Z, but just not practical.

lol... I know its like WTF. The reason I am trading is cuz I do alot of driving and I haven't been able to visit my father that often who likes about 6 hours away. Also I do mostly stop and go driving through town on bumpy *** roads. I know the fit is more spacious but I looked at both and it makes me feel like I'm driving a minivan, and I was going for a 3dr hatch. I would have gotten a civic if they came in hatch (new models, yes I know I could have gotten ek). I looked into both cars and IMO they are both just as safe but I was going for super cheap too. I'd spend at least 17K after tax on the fit and I spent 14k on the yaris after tax.

Anyway, I am trading the car so I can afford to get a 240 to drift in. It gets a bit expensive to drift in a z. I am going to college and working full time and In the end I relized I couldn't drift if I just had the z. This way if my 240 brakes I still can get to work and school. Also I'm gonna get a z, probally a hr, in a coupple of years once I have a good job and done with college.
