Do you have a manual showing VIN location? Get one here free: http://www.courtesynissan.com/ou/richardson-nissan/

I have nav on mine too and use to make "back up" copies of nav software a couple of years ago. I could hook you up with an English copy if you like although I don't see how its going to help much considering you live outside the US. At least you would be able to read the maintenance features

Also I purchased a complete dash professionally painted gloss black from a member who had nav and he included the button panel in English, I don't need a spare so I could hook you up with that panel cheap if your interested. Its as simple as popping off the old one unplugging a small connector then snapping in the new one.

Pic of the part im reffering to:
Hey thanks on the offer, but I'll pass on the panel. But I would appreciate the software though. Do you know if I install the eEnglish nav software if it will mess with the rear/front camera software?

Not sure but worth a shot, if it doesn't work you could just put the old dvd back in. Oh and when I meant panel its just the piece that has the buttons on it not the whole dash, just making sure you didn't get confused

So just that piece with the buttons? In that case I'm interested. How do we do this? I'm in Malaysia (where men are men and the women.....do amazing things with corn).

Thanks so much.....but I can confirm VIN is not there on my car. Maybe the Japanese exporter took it off before shipping it to Malaysia. Or maybe they don't have VIN's on 350Z's in Japan? I give up.

The only thing I have with a date on the car right now is the seat-belt tag. Both belt tags state 2005.

The car has 33,000 km clocked (20,000 miles) and the interior is really in pristine condition without even a tiny scratch anywhere .... I'm starting to believe that it was declared as a 2004 to reduce the import duty at the sea-port. Just a theory.....will confirm tomorrow with some local dealers to see if there is such a thing.

I really like reading your threads. They are entertaining. For some reason everytime I read one, I keep thinking of wild monkies digging through your car or ripping something apart...

I noticed a "TV" button on the Japan Spec where our "Cancel" button is so I would check whether it is compatible. OP, nice ride. Are mods readily available in Malaysia for the Z?

Clydesdale. And mine is enough to keep me satisfied, as well as a wife of 24 years next month, and has helped make two beautiful children. lol

To the OP, pretty sure that VIN ID was removed intentionally, for whatever reason.

Us US inhabitants are gonna be almost worthless on VIN placement considering the lack of luck you've had.

Come on Non-US residents....(yes I know that's slightly egocentric sounding). sound off, help this guy out. He has to know, or the monkeys will attack.
