How is this possible??
This may not give you an exact year build but there are tons of years on these cars. Any of the plastics will have a "mold year" usually year then month. The plastic battery cover, Fuse cover, the corner of the carpets on the floors and in the trunk. Like I said it wont give you an exact year but it may give you an idea. I also think the stock nissan muffler in the back has a build year on it. It will say nissan calsonic and the year somewhere I think. Anyway I know this isnt an exact year but it may help.

on mine, the VIN is stamped into that area in big letters/numbers. also you see that small metal plate off to the left of the circled area, that is where my VIN is also located. the plate does not call it a VIN though, it states chassis number instead. so i
what more you need
The VIN# is only a US requirement by the "NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION". You can read all about it at http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/w...cfr565_06.html.
Vehicles that are not originally intended to have a US destination are not required to have a VIN and therefore might not have one. It probably has a serial number of some sort, but it would not be required to have a "VIN" as we know it here in the US.
So if you can't find a VIN in the usual spots, it probably doesn't have one.
Unrelated to VINs, I'm impressed that even the right hand drive steering wheel is different. The cruise control buttons are on the gear shift side of the steering wheel, whether it is right or left drive. .... making right drive steering wheels different from left drive ones. They could have easily left them on one side or the other and nobody probably would have noticed or cared!

I got my car delivered this week...its as stock as can be; and I've sent it to the paint shop to get it Glasurit painted with Crystal White (i.e. Lexus)......the most attractive white for a 350Z, in my opinion.
Immediately after that I'm gonna be doing a few things in rapid succession ..... will be putting in 19in Nismo LMGT4 wheels, upgrading rear lights to JDM LEDs, LED'ing the whole car, LED front bumper side markers, front grill, rear exhaust grill, VKool platinum tints.....and some other minor external touches like custom Z emblems, s2000 antenna, etc. etc. All the above will be done here in Malaysia within a radius of 30 kilometers from my house.
Won't be doing any of the funky bodykit stuff though.....like to keep the car lines clean. Can't afford the performance upgrades just yet (but maybe after the dawn raid I'm planning on my neighbor's goat farm next month....or after I get married and earn the bride's dowry). I already just spent USD 60K on this used 2004 roadster.....Malaysia automobile import tax is 300%......on top of paying road tax of USD 1.3K per year for a 3.5Kcc car. A new 350Z here costs USD 130K
You see that's why my 2004 350Z is a big deal for me, because its a $60K depreciating investment (worth it)......and that's why I panic at the slightest thing that looks wrong with it, and I enthusiastically post plenty of questions in this forum ....so to some of the senior forummers please bear with my knee jerk queries :-)
I think I'll start a new thread to document with pictures my 350Z's transformation from stock to Malaysian Pimp Ride.
