Default Order confirmation numbers

I must apologize up front for bringing up such a simple, and massively addressed issue, but I am confused by something...

Where are the order numbers coming from (Wxxx, Sxxx, etc.)? Are these from the dealer allotment reports?

I know this has been discussed, but I cannot find it in the search... rather, I found massive amounts and it is hard to go through everything trying to find the proverbial "pin in the haystack."

The reason I am lagging on this is I was thinking this information was going to be on the original order confirmation packet we were to get. I just got my original packet last week. (It was resent, as over half the originals were not sent correctly or at all) The confirmation packet (glossy black) was wonderful. It had the exact details of my Z order. I was thinking the production/delivery information was on there, but it wasn't.

So I ask, where is the order number obtained from?

Regards,
Todd

If i remember correctly you need to call your dealer to obtain your tracking number, i did not bother to get it.

right now i'm just chewing my nails while I wait

Does the order number include the production month and delivery month as well? I wasn't sure if they were associated together.

Thanks,
Todd

They are associated, in that if your dealer can tell you your order number from a report, they can also tell you the build month, and delivery month.

Prior to anyone receiving order numbers, we were in the dark. After people starting receiving order numbers(and the associated dates) we were able to see that:
R numbers were originally August delivery
S numbers were Sept dely
T numbers were Oct dely
W numbers were Nov dely
and then a few people (including me) received U numbers, also with Nov dely.

Many of the R's were delayed to Sept, but some R's have some S's have been delivered now in August.

Guessing now, but I think all R's and S's will be delivered in Sept. I also think most T's will also. Some T's may be Oct, and I think the balance of the orders (W and U) will also be delivered in Oct, latest early Nov.

I think Nissan hit some early snags, delaying some orders. I think they have increased production, got back on track, and plan on completing production of all preorders by end of Sept, which is why I think most everyone (true pre-orders) will receive their cars by Oct, early Nov.

There are two reports your dealer is given: KMD3210-R2 as well as KMD3210-R3. R3 is the better source of information as it includes the customer's name(s). R2 requires you (or dealer) to decipher Nissan's codes and if another customer ordered the identical car and options, you could not differentiate between the two unless they had the same estimated delivery date.

Your dealer should be willing to work with you, especially with NNA being more demanding of customer service at the local level rather than "us" calling regional offices.
