I just read a window sticker for a 2006 Nissan 350Z Touring Edt! That said the car was equiped with heated leather seats but the car didnt have heated leather, just leather! I know by looking at my 2006 350Z dealer brochure that this shouldnt be! It clearly states that it should have heated leather seats! Because of this issue the dealership had to do a dealer buy back and the car currently sits at the dealership for sale with 57 miles on it! And I did say its a 2006! I know some of you guys are going to think that this is a useless thread but concerning the thread about which 350Z will be worth the most money I have to say that this one if kept in great condition and with the original window sticker will definitly be worth the penny because of the mistake!!!!! How many times have we been watching a car auction and a car had a flaw from the factory that made it unique and valuable! Chime in! Has anyone else ever seen this mistake or any other mistakes from the factory that makes it unique from the rest!

Not an enthusiast! It has VDC, not TCS! And it has the 240 watt bose sound system with the 6 disc cd radio! Thats not available on the Enthusiast model! Plus the dealership is honest about the car and are saying it was a mistake about the heated seat option! Why would they lie about it? The fact that its an 06 with 57 miles on it should sell itself!

No, VDC, Radio and Leather are installed at the factory. My suggestion was that somebody forgot to knock out the plugs and put the switches in place at the factory. Dealer had nothing to do with it.
Is the driver seat a power adjustable seat?

Is this the car that was listed on ebay by a dealer? If I recall correctly it was a factory buy back for this exact reason.
I don't see a problem with it except that the car will have a lemon law title. Not a problem if you never plan on selling the car, but a branded title will significantly reduce the resale value.

How rare is that? Being you work for nissan , what else have you heard as far as factroy mistakes? I think these cars will have a significant value over regular 350Z's because Nissan normally doesnt make mistakes. So if the car is documented as a factory mistake car and the original window sticker is present that would make it really rare!

Pull up the console and inspect it to see if the switch is laying there waiting to put put in the proper place.

Don't kid yourself. Maybe in 25 years when most of the 350Z's have rotted away in junkyards and yours is in mint/pristine condition, only then may it have some significance but I really doubt it. Something so minor as a heated seat switch won't be of much interest to car enthusiast. Now if you had a revup engine in a non-revup car, that would be significant.

We have a running thread here on annual production numbers: https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2008-n...-s-update.html
Nissan publishes them monthly here...

I'd be willing to bet you there are more "mistake" cars then Yellow 35th anniv cars (~200). Most mistakes are minor and probably never get noticed. Is it going to make them worth significantly more? Only if they survive. That alone guarantees them value. A beatup rust bucket will be worthless no matter what the factory mistake in it.
You'd be surprised how many people don't know half the features of the Z so how would they notice if it was missing one?

Exactly, just like I could put the switches in mine and claim it was some kind of factory mistake. The problem with so many of us modding our cars is that it's impossible to tell what's what anymore.
You think there is a factory defect on a car, and that being defective will increase its value.
Tht's an interesting bit of logic.
