Winter storage
Draing the gas is not necessary, all you need to do is make sure its full and put some stabalizer in there. I stored my previous car, 02 Maxima like that for 6 months. Just make sure you change the oil before and after. One last thing, ensure you take the battery out while in storage. I have had no problems with mine. Just my .02
old thread, but it's that time of year again. the garage space at my apartment leaks a little bit when it rains... is that going to be a problem for the car cover? also...is the car cover going to do bad stuff once it gets really cold? (moisture...sticing to car..ripping off paint)..

fill with gas and fuel stabilizer. I worked on boats for years and this is what we did for winter storage and long-term dry-dock. You should also disconnect the batteries. If you're storing it on a concrete floor you may want to lay something underneath the car to act as a vapor barrier againts the concrete.

Put a comforter (sp?) over the car, then put on the cover (if you have enough room). This is for indoor.
For outdoor, buy a tarp and put it over your regular cover. Note that some car covers can sometimes fade the corner bumpers of cars as well. Just take note.
I'd start it up and let it get to full operating temperature at least once a week. We have z32tt's with 20k on the odo ('91 models at that) and we know for a fact letting cars sit is BAD.

i think im gonna go for the tarp. and some carpet under the tires. should i swap my stock tires back for storage, or does it not matter? just wanna make sur ei get everything

Don't foget to have fresh oil and a full tank of gas.
I did the same thing and started my Z every two weeks letting it warm up for 5-10 minutes. I connected the battery to a battery maintainer and placed carpet under all four tires. Worked like a charm.

eh. One more important thing. Consider buying one of those things to throw inside the car (cant remember the name). You need one because moisture can build up and start causing a nasty smell in the car. I've always cracked my windows a bit in the garage. But if you're storing outside, I know this isnt feasible. I cant remember the name of the thing, anyone?
Also, how long is your car going to be in storage? Notice you have aftermarket wheels. I would put the car on jack stands and bring the tires/wheels in (also prevents flat spots from forming in tires)

well, it's going to be in a garage, but it gets cold here, and the damn garage leaks a little bit. i guess i'll put the stock wheels back on.
