Default Cant find Premium gas in Charlotte, help

hey, can't find prem gas and this crappy regular is making my car run awful. Called dealership and they said it would be fine, but another Z owner said it would mess up my engine. Should I use a octane booster in the meantime since I am no longer under warranty and I am sure Modern would love a huge new motor invoice. Help please!!

If you are unable to find at least 91 octane in a large town, then that's just plain sad.

Did you even look?

I use an octane booster if I can't find 91 octane or higher... Which is starting to become more difficult to acquire, btw...

If it isn't available, I wouldn't sweat it, as the issue will be temporary.

Running 87 octane isn't going to damage your vehicle, as your ECU will compensate. There will be a slight reduction in performance though.

Thats how it was over in my area (Canton, GA) for a good solid 2 weeks and it sucked! If I couldnt find 93 octane anywhere, i put either 110 race gas or C16 race gas Which by the way, smells soooooo good and addicting LOL!

but in the OP's case its the only option.
northside charlotte has premium all day now, bought it yesterday for 4.03/gallon, the Shell on 49 near 485/Campus. You were just here a few days ago (assuming you're who I think you are), should have gotten it.

on my way to Wilmington today I had trouble finding premium in several cities, eventually I had to run 87 until I got to raleigh. I didn't notice any difference though, all highway driving.

Bah octane booster + 87 octane won't help much.

If you do insist on using them...

Pour in the octane booster BEFORE gassing up.

MC was stating this also last week could not find premium for the GT-R in the NC area after the hurricane. Well looks like this is no longer a problem.

its still relatively bad the gas problem for those in southside (the affluent side of charlotte) because since south side is literally like 90% BMWs/Mercedes they dont have the premium gas to go around, and where I am now, in north side, only one station (the one i mentioned earlier) has it. so getting better but far from solved. its ridiculous if you ask me since only a few cities are having to deal with this problems, most managed it well

Go ahead and run the 87, but just drive the car nice and easy. The higher octane is to help prevent predetonation. Just baby the gas until you can get higher octane fuel again.
