So we saw the video of the silver Z autoxing... It was classed as AS. Well, that isn't too bad honestly...

Do we think it will stay there? Be moved to SS? Down to BS? What about the track edition? AS, SS?

Lets hear your thoughts!!!
I wish I was cool enough to understand what all of that means!

Could you explain theses classes for us AutoX-dummies?

So can a Civic or Miata. It's all about the driver.

Where was it filmed & who drove the Z? Can we get driver impressions from him or her? Hey, I've seen women turning in some pretty fast times!

I think the Z should fair well in AS and it will be interesting to see if they keep the track version in AS as well. My bet is they will.

Honestly the Z is probably too much for BS (probably would be a cherry picker in BS if not a front runner) and will get destroyed in SS IMHO. AS should be the best home for it now (I don't think it will be an easy class for it, but above average).

As far as STS goes, the 350Z will never fall under it's rules of 4 seats (with seatbelts), max. 225 wide tires (unless you downgrade tires, blah), and it's sports car based. Those 3 rules will always hold it out.

Ahem...and what difference does it make being a women??? A driver is a driver. I race in the open class and do just fine.

I was originally going to run my track version in STX but it was pointed out to me that you can't have wheels wider than 8 all around. Guess it looks like AS.

I'm glad you brought this up... I know a lot of CRX Auto-Xers... be forewarned that these cars may still eat you at the track. Sure, they may be underpowered, but they're typically ~1900-2100lbs, and with the small chassis they have, they tend to do very well at Auto-Xs...

Keep in mind, the SCCA is still deciding on moving around a few cars in AS and BS. You can find more details here http://www.scca.org/news/fastrack/02-06.pdf see page F-124.

In the current classing, I think the Z fits better in AS than in BS (definitely doesn't belong in SS!).
