How much does it cost to build something like that? Do you have a pic that shows it relative size compared to a pop can, quarter, etc?

yes! brings back memories.....rc-10...grasshopper...my friends had those. i started off with the hornet , then i got the big boss (total waste of money) and the optima mid (nice 4 wheel drive car...that one was a fun one to build). i always wanted to get a gas car...but, back then they were so expensive...well i was only like 13...it's expensive for a 13 year old. i used to upgrade all of them...never kept them "stock". but, i'd love to build a gas one now...with all the new improvements and with all the new technology...and with all the "newness". man, it's tempting to just get it to build it and show it off! i'd love to get a "mini-z".

they are much much larger than a quarter....and much bigger than a soda can. i would say that they are more the size of a 12 pack. at least when i had the cars they were pretty big. they are about 18 inches long and about 12 inches wide (very rough estimate). but, it is larger than it looks in that picture.

well.. here's a pic next to my shoe and a CD. Its a 1/10 scale RC. the Ready to Run (RTR) models are around $300. They come built out of the box and all you need are batteries and a glow plug ignitor and fuel. I'd recommend getting a kit and builing it yourself. Not that hard.. just a long process. The mechanics are pretty much like a real car, with drive shafts, belts, suspensions, intake, exhaust, ect. But with all the upgrades.. i've spent about $500 on my RC. I've crashed it a couple times with my friends car too so i had to buy a lot of spare parts.

http://www.towerhobbies.com is a good place to buy RC's if you don't have a local RC shop.

awe yeah... i always put high RPM motors in there and oil shocks...

Im trying to remember the name of the last car I built.. but it was really sweet... I always built off road cars.. if i put them on the street i would put the road foam tires on them and that goo to make them sticky!

my mommy wouldnt let me build a gass powered car because she heard story's of them blowing up on peple when filling them...

geez... i was in 2nd and 3rd grade when i was doing this stuff...

back in the day!

WANTS TO BUILD CAR NOW NOW NOW!
