If you lost it IN YOUR Z it will still be IN YOUR Z. remove the seats to make it easier.

Lost my college class ring the same way. Of course a guy slammed into the rear of my car and sent the ring flying. Wasn't too concerned at the time. More worried that my brains were leaking out.

Genius metal detector idea aside (the whole car is metal), I would suggest as everyone else has said to remove he seats but be much more systematic about it. Pull into your garage or do it on dark flat fresh pavement so you can easily see anything shiny. Disassemble the interior as much as you can and then disassemble the parts you took out. Take a vacuum and suck up every little nook and cranny you can't thoroughly inspect yourself and MAKE SURE you keep the bags and sift through them under high light later.

It also might not be a bad idea to check the trunk and the spare wheel well. Just because you think it's impossible for something to get somewhere doesn't mean that it's not there. Check your shoes and clothes as well I've had a ring imbed itself into shoe treads before.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Right? OMG, its like a worm hole. Sh*t I havent seen in months miraculously re-appears desite pretty good effort finding whatever I "lost". Weird.
But if you have power seats, look at the slider and electrical crap attached to it. I found my iPod in that area two days after it was lost.

take the seats completely out, get a shop vac, and vacuum the car...you will hear it if it's there.

you could sell the car and say there is a special prize in it, therefor making the price 10k higher and then you could buy here a nicer ring

If you use a vacuum take something like a knee high ladies stocking and stretch over it that way the ring won't get sucked ijnto the vacuum

Just keep looking. It'll be in the last place you look. Guaranteed.

I agree with a previous poster. Remove the carpet. Even though I did do this, to look for a ring I lost in my old truck, I didn't find it. Found tons of change though.

If it's that important, spend a weekend, remove the seats and carpet, and check all those important spots like behind the plastic guard on the parking brake assembly, and stupid places like that wedge between the two sections of the seat. I found my missing drivers license in that middle spot before.
