Ask them to show you the gun.

Some of them write tickets on the hope that you have better things to do and will not contest it and just pay.

Maybe you can keep it off your record. But you still pay fines.

Never hurts to have friends on the force.

Most jurisdictions do NOT require an officer to show the offender the RADAR/LIDAR instrument.

No offence intended.

I didn't mean to imply that a civilian could force it.
I should have worded it differently.

I have re-worded my original post.

I have always heard that you could request it.
I never have. because when I'm caught. It's usually dead to rights.
So I just handle it.

You have to pay to play at times. Some of those cops are crafty when it comes to not being seen.

I just got my Z on 11/8. The tint on it is too dark to see the temp tags, and I have no front license plate (obviously.. but it's illegal in CO unless its a new car) - and I have aftermarket exhaust on my car. I also have an illegal strip of tint on the front windshield.. I caught myself doing 10 over by 2 cops now, and have pulled up next to 3. None have decided to pull me over. So either I'm extremely lucky, or the cops in the North Denver-metro area are very laidback compared to where you live

EDIT: Were you guys being serious about P.B.A. being a Pro Bowler's Association card? I've never heard of a PBA card, so excuse the ignorance. But if you were, why in god's name would it help you dodge out of a ticket?

4 years and counting, I have never been pulled over in my Z without a front license plate (knock-on wood). One time, a state trooper made a 180 and followed me for 1 stop light, I guess he found I have nothing against the law, but that is it. Sometimes driving a lesser car gets you pulled over, I got pulled over recently because the city decided they needed money, so this past week, I've seen many not too pricey cars being pulled over for speeding. The Z did draw some attention just yesterday from a group of bankers that was walking by, whom one of them said, "That is a Z," at a McDonald's drive-thru. One of my police buddy tells me where he patrols, he bust on cars that he recognizes that is often driving fast, or unsafe. He likes my Z, but he wouldn't want one because to him it is a hassle to keep the car clean and protect from haters. He told he hasn't stopped a Z, mainly because he does other police job which is far more important.

My GTi gets a lot of police attention, but first thing they see is a big FMIC and a CF hood and it's loud. I got pulled over 3 times for tint in my GTi and got 2 tickets. 3rd time led to a 1 hour sobriety test... (I had 2 beers 5 hours prior... blew 0.000)...so I stripped the tint. My R1 attracts a lot of police attention. Just got a ticket for 70 in a 55.. Sheriff claimed I was doing 80....

I bought an orange car... I suspect its only a matter of time... I have noticed however the Z is more of a head-turner than any other vehicle I have ever owned, hands down...

You joined the board just to say that you should run from the cops? You know there are more than one of them right? The one following you probably got your plates before he flashed his lights as well. But, no, you're right. Gun it.

You can't out drive the radio no matter how fast you spool out.

When dude finally gets caught they'll slack off the rest of us .

Don't know about you guys, but the last time the police pulled me I got a 1.000$ fine... (the cop "liked" my ride - too bad he couldn't afford one, so he thought I shouldn't be happy as well...)

I'm very certain that your salary is probably higher than mine, and I afford the Z. Not knocking you for not being able to do it, as I'm sure you have other priorities in life at the moment. Point being, you don't need much of a salary to buy a nice car on a loan.

As for the $1,000 fine.. what the hell did you do? They don't just hand massive fines out like candy.
