Is there really 2006 with NISMO pachage?
Ok...a dealer is trying to sell me this Z and i want to know if it's worth going out and looking at it...he says it's a Track model with the nismo pachage which consists of brakes/rotors, exhaust, cold air, and short shifter...
I don't think he knows what he's talking about...but you guys tell me.

I dont even know where to start with this one...
track model comes with upgraded brembo brakes, "nismo package" wouldn't change any of that
the pic you have attached looks like a pre-2006 judging from the wheels. those are 2003-2005 track wheels, 2006-2009 track/grand touring come with really nice looking (imo) 19" rears and 18" fronts.
there's other things i see as phony but I dont want to get into them all right now
good luck

no, never any red brakes that are OEM to my knowledge, I think nismo only makes brake pads, so look for that.
+1 on the car looking like a pre 06 model, ask to see pics of intake, exhaust and the shifter and compare to stock to see, but they probably are lying to a degree.

Well, it looks like the dealer is a tool and doesnt know jack **** about the 350z I would assume that this is coming from a non nissan dealership, if not and its a dealership trying to sell it like that then its just sad. +1 on the year being 05 as well.

The dealer may be selling an '06 350Z with some of the NISMO option package stuff. Shocks/springs and swaybars were available, along with the V1 body kit. There were NISMO brake pads available as well, but it's most likely overpriced aftermarket stuff.

I have a dealer in my area that called me. Come look at the Nismo we have on the showroom floor. 2004 base model with a Nismo wing, Nismo aftermarket wheels, Nismo decals, Nismo exhaust. A interior shop had redone the seats and door panels in orange vinyl. Lets see, 30k for an 04 base in July of 08? Plus one of the salesmen actually thought it was a true Nismo. I went around the corner and grabbed an 08 350 line folder. The salesman was able to get educated on their own product brand. So beware, not many sales personnel know a thing about what their selling.

I've never met a salesman DID know about the car he was trying to sell me. I was looking at a Sebring for my mom that I KNEW had 172hp. Just to test the salesman I asked him about it. First, he said it had a reliable engine from Honda which was BS because I already knew the model had a junk Mitsubishi engine. He also said it had "well over" 200 hp. I offered him 2k under asking and he said no so I walked. Moron.

In my case, it work to my advantage. I bought my z used at a hyundai dealer. It was advertised as a base model but i noticed from the picture that it had brembos on it. So i visited the dealer to see if it was the same car, and to my surprise it was. I asked the salesman about the car's specs. and right off the bat, i knew that he didn't know a damn thing about the car. I even mentioned that it had brembo brakes on and the guy said that all 350z's came with it, so i played along. I got the car down a grand under asking price, with satellite tracking and warranty included.

Man I hate that.
Dealerships that hire sales people that are in it for pay checks.
How many Nissan lots have I been on where the sales staff wasn't nearly as passionate about the product as I ? Nearly every single one.
You want to see a real salesman in action so you can get a feel for the real thing? Go to your local porsche dealership. Those guys are the ***** and are tough to one up.
That being said. Drag a$$ to Nissan USA and build a regular z car and then build a nismo and study that *****. Any z can have nismo packs added to them. Still...., the nismo model they are NOT.
The true Nismo is a ***** to the wall race car. Point of fact. It's an Autech designed race car with a z car body. Autech build all of Nissans' GT championship cars.
Do the math. Educate yourself. When you go onto a lot knowing more than the salesman. You have just bought yourself leverage. It's just not good business for the buyer to trust a salesman looking for a comission.
They're salesmen. Be it new or used. They are there to tell you what they need to get you to drive away here and now.
Make them become the statistic. Drive off getting a better deal on the car of your dreams. Knowing the difference makes it possible to bypass the salesman and go straight to the sales manager. Making it obvious that, the salesman has no excuse for even wearing a dealership branding on there shirt.
If you smoke them hard. You could receive a job offer .
