bad fuel economy?
I have already confirmed the guage is reading accurately. I reset the guage on my last fill up. As well as the speedo guage. I filled up approx. 11.8 gallons of fuel after driving 140miles. That number coincided with the number on the mpg guage.
Hes not ********ting thats exactly what i have been getting, I put in 57 litres on sunday and im empty today i got 300kms and its on - - - dead empty.. Im in canada so ill do a conversion for you sorry guys
300kms= 140miles.. and 57 = i believe 14.7 ish Gallons. What is going on!! haha this is terrible My 08 f150 gets near the same mileage except i dont pump 94 into it

What are you trips like? Short and cold? City driving? I really cannot imagine anyone averaging less than 15-17mpg freeway even if you're getting on it occasionally.
Also, where are you shifting at? Keep in mind about shifting at low RPMs... it might be boring but it could mean the difference between a few mpg.
I was gonna say the same damn thing!
For the record... this makes the most sense to me about getting poor gas mileage in the winter. I don't know if it's 100% true but it definitely makes alot of sense. Keep this in mind with short trips back and forth.
I would attribute your poor mpg to the short distances you are driving.
Engines need to run rich when it is cold so that it will start quickly and not stall. Anything with a carburetor will have a choke to do this (lawnmowers, boats, motorcycles, weedeaters and virtually every car made between 1900 and 1990). Modern cars do it electronically. Everybodys Z gets crappy mileage until it gets to operating temperature.
So someone that drives only 2 miles per trip will surely get crappy mileage.
Try this. Watch your temp gauge. How much of your 2 mile trip is at normal operating temp? The answer doesn't matter, but just be aware of how much of your driving is done with the engine cold.
Also do this. Go out driving for a few miles. After you get up to normal operating temp, reset your trip computer and drive a couple of miles while warmed up to see how the mpg calculates.

I shift right around 3k rpm. Mostly city driving, but like I said, I get on a small highway for a short distance, basically 2 lights. No can do on the bike, I want to live past my next birthday (It's not my driving I'm worried about). I've had the same fuel economy since warm weather by the way.
wel i could bike but its a 30 min ride. vs 9 min drive plus the fact its cold/raining. and i dont feel like biking home for 30 mins at 1am every day haha i used to bike it but **** on it . and yes its small city driving closest thing to highway is shelbourne 50k speed limit
The picture indicates an average speed of 12mph. So in addition to your short trips, you never get into the economical range of the car.
This is just an observation of my readings on my car.
I usually get between 20-21mpg on the dash pod. That is 100% city driving with 100% throttle reasonably often. My average speed almost always sits right on 24mph. ... I have noticed that when my average speed is below 20mph my mpg rating is usually around 17mpg.
So just a wild *** guess ... If you can make a trip with an average speed over 20mph, I bet you'll get at least 17mpg. If you can make a trip with an average speed over 40mph, I bet you'll get at least 22mpg.
I still think you need to go driving. Get the car warmed up, reset the trip computer, then drive for a bit. Just 3 or 4 miles should get you a relatively accurate reading. ... and compare it to your average speed too!
