A body shop is screwing me over
I hit a curb in my Z. Damaged the front right qaurter panel and rim mainly. I wanted to see if the shop could paint the whole car for me and fix a few blemishes I had on the car. They kept telling me no they wouldn't do it because that it was too much work. They kept delaying everything with dumb excuses like his printer was broke for a week and couldn't get me a qoute. When I finally got the qoute it was $12,000 with rediculous amounts added in. I went to another shop and they told me that their prices are outragious. So I told the original shop to give me my bill because I was going to have another shop do the work. After a tow and 70 days in his shop he billed me at $4,000. He is still charging me $55 a day and refuses to change his price and says its because he is a quality painter.
I just wanted to vent here and hopefully someone would have some advice.

ha ha ha. Look man this is very easy to come out of.
#1 did you sign anything, or give the guy any type of confirmation to start any kind of work?
# 2 did he do work and is expecting you to pay for it?
You can actually take him to small claims court for this and if your GAME is tight and all your info is right you can walk out clean from this with your car done right in the end.

WOW. Stop right there. You need to get your *** down there and
call the police. Tell the police that the shop is holding your car for
no reason. GET YOUR CAR NOW. Tell the shop owner to go **** himself,
and leave. Have your car towed to a normal shop.
**** COURT **** HIM AND GO GET YOUR CAR.
Jesus. I would have likely torn his arm off and beaten his face with it by
now.

IF he were to charge you for the storage fee. He would have to have some type of confirmation and or acknowledgment from you knowing this b4 hand. UNLESS he has some kind of SIGN stating that after a certain amount of days you will be subject to a storage fee, then he kinda has the upper hand. Plus 70 days is a long time to leave your car somewhere.
