Angry Warning labels

Hi,
I don't know if you people have the same problem where you are, or in fact if Nissan even carried the rules over when exporting the cars. But here in Japan there is an agreement between the car makers that there should be some nice orange and white warning stickers in every car about the airbag system as it is such an important system. All well and good, but ...
A) They should be removeable
B) They could be a little more discreet.

Mine seem to be bonded to the sunvisors, that's right, both of them. Can't begin to peel them off before you see them stretch the fabric underneath. Nissan won't even try removing them - even though I vowed to keep them in the pocket for the rest of the car insurance/documentation etc.

Did any of you have this problem or is this a Japan only issue ?

Any recommendations for removing them would be appreciated.
If the US/European cars don't have any stickers on them, I'd even consider ordering a new set from a dealer to ship to me.

cheers

DaZee

You mean you can't get the labels off either and are buying replacements ? What are the JDM visors ? What do they look like, what is the cost etc ?

I mean, mine are in bloody Japanese, even if I cared about the warning I can't read it

it's so that you can't claim the visor came without the warning labels just because it wasn't there after the accident.

JDM= Japanese Domestic Market.

Someone else tried taking them off and switching the right one with the left one.

Default Seems to be a Nissan thing

I rode in a Honda CR-V the other day and there were no bright colors. The information was still bonded to the vizors though.

Those labels are in all markets unfortunately. However if you have a model without a vanity mirror you can swap them side to side so they're hidden most of the time.

I thought about chrome dipping mine....

OK, no I didn't...

Still searching for suitable, yet subtle, decals to cover them with.

I wonder if you order replacement visors they come without the warning label ?

And hey ! Where is your center control console ? The US version not have one ? Locates between you glasses holder and rearview mirror. Contains the hands free microphone and the buttons for CarWings and AutoDJ.

This just occured to me.

How about removing the visors, masking them off and airbruhing the label in a matching colour? Sure they'd still be there but they'd blend in a lot better.

Just an idea. No idea how well it'd work or if the paint would hold so don't blame me if anything goes wrong

Having mine recovered. I was the one that took the knife to them. I had a quote of 55 for both to be covered in matching leather with my two tone seats.

I have removed labels on other cars with "GOOF-OFF" (there are other similar products).

Don't have my Z yet, but this may be worth a try.......

GOOF-OFF is basicaly a solvent and is available at most hardware/Home Depot type stores.

Remove the visors & tape off everything except the label.
Dab on the solvent (several times) until the label starts to wrinkel, then peel off & clean-up.

It's not that type of label. VW's have that type. These are real plastic.

is it really that big of a deal that you're flipping your sh*t over a warning label? its on ALL cars. deal with it. there are much more important things in life than sitting around and b*tching about a stupid warning label.

I usually cover them up with contact paper, but I really like the idea of getting them covered in matching leather. My car has two tone orange seats, i think it would look cool.

Not flipping my sh*t about it, just found it damn annoying and wondered if all the cars were like it, or if it was a Japan only thing. And spending the last 1.5 years and counting in hospital recovering from a crash, I don't think I need you to tell me there are more important things in life thanks. In fact I am now on standby to go in for operation number 16 to fix my leg.

What I do find interesting though is that photo with the visors flipped around. Is that what the roof of all your cars looks like ? Or do some of you have a control panel there between the glasses holder and the windshield ?
