Definitely get it looked at...us random people on the internet can only tell so much from some pictures. My guess would be $3,000-5,000 in damage, easily.

Now your question is would you rather pay that cost up front and not have it jack up your insurance for the next few years, or just pay the $1000 insurance deductible now and have the rest of the costs (not all of the costs) spread throughout the next few years?

I'd go through insurance and have the work done properly with that kind of damage.
