A Unique Problem? Please Help.
My 2 year old son thought the cassette player slot in my touring was his piggy bank. I was outside the car and he was playing inside, hitting every button, honking the horn, etc....
If you have kids you know what I mean.
However; he was also depositing change into the radio.
Help, how do I get this out?
I'd much prefer not to take the radio apart, the dash apart, I have no rattles (except for the coins sliding back and forth
) and would not like to add any.
Thanks in advance.

My first suggestion would probabally to take the radio out. You might be able to just hold the cassette door open, and shake some change out. Although, without knowing how much he put in there, you'll never know if you got it all out unless you take the radio apart.
refer to this link for radio removal:

Good luck!

I would think that you had better do something to get them out or there is a good chance one of the coins is going to short something out and then you won't have a radio.
Turn the radio OFF. My friend had this happen in his Camry. Like TEH215 said, it shorted out his radio. H eplayed stupid and took it to the dealer. When he went to pick up the car, the service manager said "we saw why it was not working, but dont worry, we replaced the radio under warrenty".
No need to remove the radio, simply turn the car upside down, hold the cassete door open and shake it until the coins fall out. Seat belt in your two year old during this process or remove him completely from the car.

This may sound stupid, but if you can actually open up the cassette door and see the coins, you might try and use a stick and attach a piece of gum or something adhesive at the end and pull the coins out that way.
Thanks for all the advice, I will try the shop vac first then I will try something sticky (not gum though), if those don't work I will take the dash apart.
G}{H I was at a car show with the car off, standing next to the car at 8pm, at night with the windows open and the hatch up.
So keep your advice to yourself.

Shrink your self down very small. Climb inside and roll the coins out. You may need help from a neighbor cause at that size a coin might be too heavy. If you see a spider he could prove helpful.
All excellent suggestions, but there's only one logical solution. Plug in your flux capacitor, set the time to 5 minutes before the incident, and get on up to 88MPH. That way you can collect all the coins and replace them with a safe Hall and Oates tape.
Cassettes? Can you still buy tapes...?

If you pry the cassette door open, and then take off like a bat out of hell, the coins might just fly out... This would make for a very cool comercial, no?
or
Drive to San Francisco, find a steeeeep hill, prop the door open... you get it I think...
