Unhappy Thinking About Selling The Z...need some help with $$$ #'s

looking for a little help on pricing suggestions everyone. the wife and I just bought a new house and as much I really don't want to I think the most practical thing to do Vs buying a 3rd car would be to trade-in and private party sell the Z.

Its an 03 6spd Touring Lemans / Charcoal leather. I ordered it with the side and curtain airbags, mats, splash guards, trunk mat, aero package. Basically has everything the Touring can get w/o the Nav. Pretty sure sticker was alittle over $35k. It has 6k miles on it now.

I know any Dealership is going to try and bend me over big time for a trade-in but KBB and Edmunds have no info on values for it yet. Considering all of the above what type of number should I be able work with / ask for selling it myself? Thanks alot

Sounds like exactly what I have. I paid 33.9 for mine in May. I'd think you could list it for say 32 and brobably settle for 30. As you stated, it's really hard to say since there hasn't relly been to many resales. Sorry to hear you have to part with it.

If it's any guide, my dealership sold a "used" one for about "invoice" or "invoice-$2000". I say "invoice" because I mean the invoice when the car was new, not what the dealer actually paid for it. It had either 1500 or 5000 miles on it (I don't remember). So you could probably get about $30,000-32,000 for it.

OMG..what a joke / waste of time. I stopped by the Dealership just to see what they would have to say being thats where I bought it at. Thinking they might want to work with since I bought there and now looking to buy another car from them. We looked at a 04 supercharged X, took it out for a ride, and when we got back the papers were on the desk for the sales rep with the 1st set of numbers......$25k trade for the Z! I didnt even say a word, just picked up my keys off the table and left. Talk about some BS

You'll get screwed over on your trade at a dealership most if not all the time. If the customer has a nice car to trade in, I almost always recommend that they sell it separately.

Someone just started a thread on buying a new Touring. Why not PM him and you can both get a good deal? I think it was Beamer66.
