POSEM UP! Let's see your Z in storage for the winter
I drove it straight home about 30 miles from its first oil change and pulled it into the garage, semi-dirty and all. I spot-cleaned the bird **** and such, and I planned to get it out and wash it but there hasn't been a decent day since that I could swing it. But my garage is dusty as hell anyway, so I'd for sure be washing it the first time I got it out in the spring anyway.
Haven't even looked at the car in over a month... It makes me too sad to see it and not be able to drive it. I need to get my *** out there and put the battery charger on it, it's been almost 2 months so it probably could use a little boost.
I've stored cars before, and here's what I go by...
1. Flat spots are nothing to worry about; they will work right out once you get them warm and drive on them a little (proven, in my experience)
2. Sta-bil is for lawn mowers (it won't hurt, but it's not necessary)
3. You're "dry-starting" the car after 2-3 weeks of sitting anyway, one dry start at the end of storage is better than 10 during storage. DON'T start the car unless you will drive it for 1/2 hour or more (an hour if it's really cold).
4. Fresh oil before storage is a good idea...
5. Fresh oil AFTER storage is more important. When you get the car out of storage, take it easy, just "cruise" and enjoy your baby a little, then get the oil changed ASAP. Then, let 'er rip.

This has been very informative for me to say the least. Never stored my car and never plan on leaving Florida so I'll probably never have to worry about it until another hurricane rips through here and I leave town. I've got to admit though, that is a great time for major modifications but after installation, the wait must be a *****!
good thread. i had a short notice deployment in which i had a week to get ready so i put mine on jack stands, took the wheels off and pulled the battery. wish i would have seen this thread before i left but...oh well.

I miss my NX.
