How many ppl 'should' sell their Z?
#22
I know I will lose out on the mods and the car, I don't mind that...its just I love the car so much...and its so beautiful...but with car insurance costing almost 2,000 a year (I'm at max discount)...And this week I'm moving about 5 blocks from where I work and where I gym....so a car isn't even necessary...and I'm actually living with my gf now...whom we can share a car with too, cause she works really close to me as well...but ...I love my Z

all im sayin is if i didnt HAVE to have a nice Z then id have alot of money saved up by now.
And try living here on Long Island, its verrrrry expensive to live hear let alone live here, have fun, and own nice things.
and obviously if i was living at home at 26 an couldnt afford my car id get rid of it.
Only thing its stopping me from its saving alot of money, which im the first to admit is irresponsible but im into cars and it keeps me happy.

I'm thinking that most who "have" to sell their Z due to the present economy probably should not have bought one in the first place. Like, exactly what has changed in your life that makes it any different than when you bought it? Now if someone has lost their job I understand but if you were living in your parents basement when you bought it, then I can't understand that. Or having crappy credit and paying exorbiant interest rates?
It's not just corporate debt that has dragged this country down.

I contemplated selling the Z because I can't put all my bunker gear and bedding in her when I switch stations from time to time.....but then I realized I can just go get a Frontier when I pay her off.

I think if your in your mid 20's and still living with ur parebts then YES u should sell ur Z and move out on ur own you bum. I believe that having a Z as a DD isn't a priority it's a privledge. Therefor move out, get a camry and when you have more cash when ur on ur own then get a Z again

Don’t sell it!!!!!
I have never owned a Z, but went through the same process with my G35. I had mods on it just like your Z, and I LOVED driving the car around, but I thought I wanted something "newer", and I am getting "older". I also felt that I needed a car that didn’t attract so much attention and was more client friendly. So what did I do? I hastefully went out and bought a Benz C350!! WTF! LONG storey short, I am now in process of getting rid of the 3 month old Benz and have decided to buy a 350z. Talk about buyers remorse, holy $h*T! I wish I never sold the G, but oh well, I am now going to rock the 350Z.
For me personally, I need to have that feeling of love when I drive my car. I will always mod my ride and always take pride in it, but the Benz "older" car does not do it for me at all. If you are looking to save money, drive less or go refi to a lower payment. If you love the car like it is your baby, don’t get rid of her. I will tell you that I would buy your Z in a heat beat if you were located in SoCal.
BTW I am in the market for a Z 6spd if anyone is looking to sell!

yeah man im in a similiar situation.
Im 26 (living at home still) since im paying off my Z with a ridiculous intrest rate because of my sh*tty credit.
unfortunatly i just love cars so much and cant drive around a "regualr" car. It kinda gives me incentive to go to work everyday when im driving my Z.
and if thats not enough i should at least sell my Z for something i can drive safely all year (STI)
but im addicted to Z's, and thats the bottom line.

STI? 350z? I dont know but dont they run about the same? Oh and someone said buying a home when things pick up? if you buy it now when its slow you will get more for less!!! I bought my house last month its a big, brand new house in SD I only paid 299k where it would of cost me around 468k last year, I AM ONLY 22 BUT I KNOW THAT NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY.

I have an 03 Z my GF had an 05 STI and now she has an 06 Evo.
I've had the pleasure of driving all. Although the STI and EVO are very fun cars to drive with the EVO taking the cake to be the funnest to whip around, but not the best cruising car. The Z slices them both as FUN to drive and still able to be a cruiser for long trips and it still makes you look older instead of a 18 yr old punk in an EVO. I'll never sell my Z till i absolutely have to.
You should of paid the Z off before splurging to hook it up then you would have at least paid the $ off with what you spent to hook it up now. Live and learn i say....but now that you wasted the $ to throw in the mods mid as well keep it cause you will be SAD once it is gone.

Keep it. Get a second job and bust your *** for a few years. Money doesn't come easily, don't be afraid to work for it. Though if you're truly looking to continue the lifestyle you have now and save money, sell the Z and buy a Civic.
The car looks great, I have an 05 PPW. What are you dropped on? It's the exact drop I'm looking for.
