today i was going to school (college)and i was on the left lane on the street in a 40 mph zone, but this car was in front of me going like 28, so i decided to pass him, not fast but i accelerated, wen i put the streering wheel straight i started to lose control and started angling to the left, and i avoided hittin a car so i tried to put the steering wheel straight and i ended up angling even more to the right .i went up a curb and hit a tree, the car is totaled from my opinion, and my friend and dads... im not making this thread so ppl can be like "wow sucks" "glad ur ok" but i want every1 to be EXTRA CAREFUL the roads are wet, which makes it sippery with the street oil, which is the reason why i lost traction, but when u get behind a wheel, make sure that you plan on making it home safley or where ever your going. i am ok, the car is not, the car isnt here but i am... i am blessed, i hope this message makes at least 1 person think twice of accelerating after a turn or switching lanes... anything can happen to any1, make sure you are careful with ur decisions. just drive safe. god bless you guys.

Thats why you slow down in the rain... I swear so many people in Socal can't drive when it rains.. quit driving like the roads are dry and your car won't suddenly "start getting sidewayzz mang for no reason"
The Z is RWD.. slight acceleration in the rain from a left turn light can induce over steering already.. take it slow out there, drive like you are carrying explosives.

It snowed here for the first time and the Z oversteered on me. Luckily no cars were around and I handled the car like a champ! Took me back to the highschool days when I used to drift in the duece forty (240). Untill the road clears up I guess I'm gonna be rolling in the wifes accored for a while. Glad your okay!

Hey guy sorry to bust your bubble but if you are accelerating and you lose control of the car doing **** like that it is your fault. btw most roads you drive on in socal get really oily because they never get rained on.. so when it rains, it gets really slippery (oil resurfaces).. but you would know that because you're highly experienced right?
I feel bad for you but please not another thread about "I just lost control out of nowhere in the rain."
Rain was so horrible in san diego today I putted my way in every gear and chose higher gears every chance I could...
I drove GRANDMA status today

^^ I have to agree with Jigga...
I believe "impatience" was your downfall this time, not the roads.
Like jigga said, due to lack of rain, oils collect and once wet, even with a sprinkle, make it hazardous to drive. Today's rain was a lot compared to previous times it's rained this year(we were so overdue)... so for really wet conditions, you should've either gave yourself more time to get to where you wanted, or you should've just followed the speed of the car ahead of you which was 10 below the limit, which is pretty safe for braking distance in wet conditions.
Been driving in LA for 10+ years... so I've seen my share of bad driving here.
Oh and I know you mean well, but I think you and lot of people should take it as a lesson learned.

You are the one that keeps blaming the conditions and not the driver controlling the car, but ok. I already said I felt bad for you. If you admit to yourself that it was driver error, you'll be more cautious in the future; if you blame the damn road everytime then you may never learn.. but who am I to care..
People in LA really can't drive in the rain.. tailgating, hauling a$$ in the rain, accelerating quickly, braking late.. seen it all.. on rainy days every year (I commute from LA - SD once a week) the 15 freeway / 5 Freeway will have a good 5-10 cars wipe out on the side from rain easy..
