okay the dealer is not giving 3k above kbb. its a ploy to get you in the door. we sent them out all the time(20,000 piece mailers). there not extending it for you or anything like that. if you dont believe me just look at it from a business stand point why would he give you over what the car is worth on the market. your actually gonna get alot less cause they go by galves not kbb

Not fond of the 370's looks. Rear end looks sweet, but thats about it. Being that it is not out yet and none of us know what problems may occur with the 1st version release can't really give you advice on getting it or not. I can see if it's been out a while and we know lots more info on it, but as of right now i say fix your Z and keep it. Everyone is so quick to jump on the new sh1it that comes out with out even seeing if it is worth it or not. Plus as a mechanic you should know your answer with out even asking.

-- only reason I'd ignore the fact that the 370z is "new" is because its based off of the 350 and g37 so much. When the 350 came out it was a new platform, new concept completely. The 370 is moreso an updated and upgraded 350 so there should be less issues. Suspension/tranny issues should have been resolved and the 3.7 engine isn't new to the game either, only thing I can see going wrong would be the syncrorev technology.... but that can be turned off
-- as far as looks, when I went to the dealer, the sales rep showed me the GT-R and it looked COMPLETELY different from any pic I had even seen. From the door handles to the quad 4" exhaust (which look WAY smaller in the pics) everything looked much more meaty in person. When I saw the maxima was using the same style headlights with the "liquid motion" concept in photos, I hated it. And seeing one pass you on the road makes you appreciate them in a whole new way. And when I saw the truck load of 370's drive past me during my trip I got the same impression. Its hard to realize how aggressive a stance the car has, smaller, and more beefed up the 370 is in a picture. And lets not talk about the interior!!

-- they'd buy the car back at a mere 3k over because they know they'll be making an extra 10k off of getting me to refinance a new car

when you went to them, what happened? if they offered this deal to you, and you didnt receive it, did you ask why? even getting 11k trade in on a 34k car would reduce my current payments by ATLEAST 1/3 due to the fact that im paying $1-200 EXTRA for the extended warranty which would now be negated due to the fact that its a new car and comes standard. My family and I are generally good hustlers and get what we want when we go to this dealer, so well see if the luck continues!

the 3rd pic i believe, with the red 370 and yellow ZR shows the difference in style and although the ZR isnt modified as mine would be, i think the 370 would still look better

I actually got some a letter too, they were looking for 350z's and would pay over KBB for them. I agree it's just to get you in the door. But some people will do it and drive away with a 370z. Personally for me, I have an 03 touring and I plan on beating the tar out of it for the next few years until the 370z has been out and get some reactions from it, from people who have it
