So I'm stationed in Japan for the next 2 years and would like some ideas on some rare parts. Possibly even some factory parts. Just some ideas.

not sure just where in Japan you are stationed but, if you are on the mainland, it should not be too hard to find all of the things you need either through other military that have been there or by making friends with local Japanese guys. They are not hard to find and are always showing thier cars off . They would be a big help in finding things that you need for your ride..

I thought about that. But the only problem is the Nissan dealerships around here only sell the box cars. I see no dealerships around here with the normal larger cars except this one which has Ferrari's, Porsche, and other Euro exotics far out of my price range.
Okay if you go to the mainland, go to a salvage yard and get your hands on a RHD Z33 front clip; that should give you everything from the doors forward.
IF not, then go for the JDM tail lights, KPH tach (specially if it has the words Nismo in it), also components, like the Brembo Brakes (found only on the track model here), the "FAIRLADY Z" badges, the OEM fenders with the turn lights (include the lights and harnesses), the door lights with harnesses; the steering wheel with the volume controls on the left side (only the Grand Touring/Track/35th Anniv. Z and the G35 has them here).
Also, if you look real hard, you might find a Z33 that has been modded, so is a good chance you will find one with a turbo kit already installed or at least with some engine mods in it; they key is to know what to look for when you hit the salvage yards. As a rule of thumb, cars in japan are built for the short, twisty roads they have, so they have features that USDM cars do not have, like stiffer suspensions, higher horsepowered engines (until 2004 when the 280HP limit on JDM engines was lifted) better transmissions (often with LSDs) and ACS (Active Control System) equipped.
The key, like i said, is to know what you are looking for.
