OP, sounds for sure like a worn clutch. How are you sure its not slipping? Sounds like its slipping all the time, hence the smell you are getting all the time while driving.
Yeah, but it was going to cost me 2 grand. I figured i can sell the 03' for 20K (back in 07') and buy a new 07' for 25. Im glad i did

plastic bag melting on y pipe , thats what i would check.
