Default Near Accident

I was on my way to work this morning and was driving on the freeway. I was going 69 miles per hour (speed limit 65 on the freeway). Anyways, I'm minding my own business driving in the middle lane of the 3 lane freeway when this black chevy pickup pulls up beside me on the right side and I notice he is getting REALLY REALLY close to my car. He must not have seen me for some odd reason (he came from behind me) and was going to turn into the front half of my Z when he was either switching lanes or not paying attention.

I then swerve over to the left lane (nobody was beside me) and then my Z starts to fishtail out of control. It starts to fishtail to the right so I try to correct that, and then it fishtails to the left and I try to correct that. After that, I did a 360* in the middle of the freeway with oncoming traffic coming right at me. I was stopped in the middle of the freeway.

Luckily, the cars behind me were not RIGHT behind me and were aware enough to stop and not hit me.

I then try to start my car and it doesn't start right away, so I kind of "coast" over to the side of the freeway and just sit in my car for a bit to collect myself (I have never come close to being in an accident until this.)

I try to start my car and I could tell there was SOMETHING wrong with it as it started rough (some kind of noise that I never heard before) and not nearly as quick. I gave the car a little while longer to cool down and then tried starting it up again and it started perfectly fine and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

I am thankful God was looking out for me today . That is all.

Wow that's some crazy stuff. Almost like a scene from a 007 movie! Glad to know you're alright though, God saved you on this one. As far as what happened to the car, I'm not sure. Lets wait for the experts to chime in.
Drive safe!

im glad your okay but ive had a by far worse experience. i once had a tracking device under my car and i spotted a crane so I jumped a ramp with only 2 wheels on the ramp to do a 180 flip in the air and I had just enough spin for the crane to grab the tracking device off the bottom of my car and i landed perfectly.

true story.

As far as the car shutting off, I'm pretty sure it's a safety feature on the non base models. Read about it on here before a year or so ago.

Some people had the problem with the car shutting off when spining out of conrol on tracks days.

Your telling me. There really is no speed limit on the freeways here, everybody goes like 75-80 mph all the time.

IDK if you are familiar with the freeways here but I was on the 202 in Chandler , cops are VERY rarely on this freeway and everyone drives like a bat out of hell.

you know i hate these roads period, i try and drive slow than i get passed by a geo metro with 7 people in it... there going 90 and the drivers looking at me like im the idiot? I dont understand it.
The only cops i see are the ones that get on my A** because they think my car is a sighn i can afford the ticket.

Did the weird noise you hear when you got it restarted sound like it could have been the fuel pump?

I think what the safety feature did, was temporarly shuts the fuel pump off because the cars computer thinks it was in an accident or severe loss of control and the fuel pump cuts off, then resets itself after a minute or so.

It was something like that, I think.

Given the number of large trucks and SUV's on the road, I just assume that nobody sees my car. It is the same kind of attitude that keeps motorcyclists alive, just assume they don't see you and be ready to take your planned escape route. Our cars are small and easy to miss.

I am thankful God was looking out for me today . That is all.
+1 Glad you are OK and no one and nothing was hurt.

The phrase "two feet in when you spin" on the track. Keeps the engine running when your done with the spin.

And, keep your hands and fingers out of the steering wheel.
