Drivetrain Warranty with Nismo LSD on Brand New Base 350z
Do you think Nissan would install a Nismo LSD onto a brand new base 350Z and cover it under the drivetrain warranty? I am thinking this because the part is Nissan, the vehicle is Nissan, and the Nissan dealership is doing the install.
My local dealership has a red base 350z and no Enthusiast model, is it a good idea to ask them to install a Nismo LSD to the brand new base 350z and have warranty with it?

The Nismo LSD is an R-tune component and as such is not covered by warranty. Your dealership has a labor warranty that would cover any damage up to a certain length of time (30 days???) that results from improper install. Other than that, consider yourself on your own if it breaks. Remember though, your drivetrain warranty will still be valid, it just won't cover problems with the LSD.
edit- Your dealership can also choose to warranty the part themselves since they are doing the install, but I think you've got a better chance of getting struck by lightning twice.

This is interesting.. Although im not a z driver (yet) I am under extended warranty and im having an oem LSD from a 04 maxima installed on my Altima since they were never originally equipped. I was wondering the same if it would void the extended warranty...
