g35 wheelbase vs 350z wheelbase
hello everyone, ive been reading these forums a lot lately because within a few months, i will be deciding on the purchase of either a performance 350z or 6mt g35. it seems the cars are almost identical in performance, with the Z being a little faster because of the less weight. people say that the longer wheelbase of the G makes it better for corners...i was wondering if this was true? and also what are the benefits of having the shorter wheelbase with the Z? thanks in advance
I believe the mags that have tested the Z and G have given a very slight edge in lateral grip to the G due mostly to the fact that from the factory the G comes with Michellin Pilot Sports which have better grip than the Bridgestone RE040s that the Z has.
Long wheel base = more stability, more control. (Especially at higher speeds).
Short wheel base = sharper turning and smaller turning radius at lower speeds (try parking a miata vs a limo or something.)
The Z has a relatively long wheelbase. In fact, it's the same as a Corvette's @104 inches.
