ok...for the average guy who is putting on a turbo or sc, under 6k isn't as easy as you are making it sound. To buy a kit, EMS, tune, etc...no way under 6k. Ask most of the FI guys what they spent. And that turbonetics single kit is 5.3k for the average guy with no hook ups.

OP: sorry to hijack. Just do some research before or that SC could be your biggest headache. Better to take your time on the buy then rush and get stuck

i agree, but come on if you go to for sale forum section you can buy a decent set up for 3-5k, and some are twin and ready to roll for lil over 5k.... might still need fuel pump or mapping but thats not so bad.

first of all it has 351whp but either way 351 or 400 whp is possible with 6k. Personally I would probably buy a cheaper model and just mod it to your liking. You dont know what its been through or what the previous owner has done. Personally Im not a fan of the taillights or the front fascia. And if you could get more details on the mods? EMS ect. Personally I would pass it up, there are way to many zs out there for sale, for you to have to "settle"

I think if you can talk them down and they offer a warranty for more than 3 years on a used turbo'd car, it is a decent deal.

If they are willing to cover any parts installed when they sell it, you should take advantage of them being tards.

He sold his car year ago i think. Great guy, very smart, and knows his tunes.
500+whp for 4K... Thats just stupid.

Nasty body kit...

I'm not sure I see $26k worth of **** on that car, unless its got an insanely fully built motor I dont know about.

I basically see a stock car with a supercharger, ugly front bumper, and ugly JDM taillights. Nowhere near $26k in mods.

Not sure anybody can buy and hook up a TC/SC system for less than $7k unless you are the owner is actually doing the build. To the OP, if you want it do some research. I wouldn't buy a modded car due to no knowledge of the history. If you know how to rebuild then you should get it. If not, then buy a stock Z and then have it built so that you know for sure that no short cuts where taken.

+1,000,000,000,000

I was going to stop arguing it, but I just don't see how it is possible to do FI CORRECTLY for less than 10k really. I wouldn't buy used, I would want dyno time, upgrade fuel delivery, EMS, etc. I thought my math must have been way off since "you can make 400whp easy for less than 6k" according to some.

Even the used ones are 3.5-5k complete, and you assume that there won't be anything wrong with them.

As for the OP: Someone made a good point-buy what you want then mod it. That way you KNOW the history and don't get a nasty surprise. On the Dyno sheet, did it say how much boost the SC had on the run? Just curious

Think about it; why would someone put so much money and time into that car, then trade it in? Probably because they couldn't get it running right. Don't buy someone else's headache.

WTF..

did this post attract some mentally disabled members.. am I missing something?

500whp for under 6k HA!

tell you what I can do it for under $500.00 **N20** yeah the motors gonna pop i know i know, but at least I wont waste 6k installing a turbo kit and waste a lot of time with out building the motor. So at least I can have that power for all of 5min. instead of throwin a rod on the dyno...
