Default I Love This Car!!!

OK, I'm not new, I bought the Z new in 2003 and I still have a blast driving it. The funny thing is that I actually have a 2008 BMW 335i, which is technically superior in pretty much every aspect, but there is some intangible about the Z that puts a smile on my face. The Z is beautiful, agile, quick and fun. Call me crazy but I think I'd get rid of the BMW before getting rid of the Z.....

Do any of you guys/girls have a car that is newer and technically superior, but still finding yourself loving the Z?

+1 I tried so hard to trade this car for a sti but I just couldn't bring my self up to do it. Everytime I get in this car, I fall in love with it too much and it's so hard to get rid of.

I know what you mean, but in a different way. I have an 03 Z, and a 91 240SX, no SR. The Z is superior to the 240 in every way, but I still love the 240, dare I say more? I'll sell my Z but I'll never sell my 240.

Was that off-topic?

i think it's the whole notion of sports car that a person can feel alive and have fun. By all means a 335 is a great vehicle, but it's a bmw, and people expect bmw owners to be in a different category. Whereas the 350z is more into the category of being crazy and having fun everywhere. I would love to have a bmw in my mid 30's. However, at this point in my life i want to tinker with my car and drive it the way i want it. I know what the OP is saying. It's a sorta of a hedonistic feeling

I completely agree with the OP. One of my relatives got the new M3, and the thing goes like stink, but I really think the Z is "more fun" to drive. Sort of an S2000 feeling. Sure the BMW would kick its *** up and down a straight and the M3 is proabably comparable around corners, but the lightness, feeling, sound, and the vibes you get in the Z makes, just makes for a better driving experience in my opinion.

The M3 chassis is extreamly stiff and feels like so much more car weight and body wize than the Z. You can't toss it around as much.

However it is nice to be able to absoultly screw on the with the M3 coming out of a a turn onto a long straight. Its weird though, your going fast and its smooth, but you never get that, suck you back in your seat feeling, Guess its the lack of torque which is only 30 more than the 350Z.

What bolt ons make any appreciable power gains on the Z? I am thinking 20 hp max for a lot of money... (pulleys, spacer, exhaust....)

Yea, no doubt the 335i is an awesome car. Every aspect of the sucker is pretty spot on...it looks classy, it's fast, tunable, handles extremely well for its weight and size, and it's built like a rock but there is something to be said for the intangibles. The Z feels more tossable and has a more "visceral" feel to it. Its less filtered and to me exemplifies the pure essence of sport.

It's as though the 335i is awesome for comfort and style, but it feels a little more electronic and too precise. Where as the Z Feels Mechanical(if that makes any sense) and a bit more dangerous. That's the formula to a classic racer(in my opinion). Closer to the terrifying 89 911 turbo (which is still my favourite).

I absolutely love mine. Owned it for 6 years now. Wait until you get some wider, stickier rubber on those wheels, and a BBK. The road becomes a playground...

unfortunatly he is right. my roomate and best friend has a 135i which has the same engine as the 335i its just lighter. he has intake and an axle back exhaust, paired with his jb3 tune and he crushes me. its hurts to say it but he does. by no means is that car a joke or a luxury car. i personally think its going to be the next supra.

just my 2 cents

That's the game with turbos, cheaper power upgrades with more tuning potential. On the other hand, you are possibly sacrificing your factory warranty and maybe risking your engine overtime.
